Recently become SAHM - Earls Court

Recently gave up work to become SAHM to 3 year old and 15 month boys. However after a summer of hanging around childrens playgrounds, playgroups and talking to everyone have failed to make any real contact with other local mums...

Any one out there ?

Hi Kaz33
Earls Court is quite far away for us, but just wanted to bump this thread up.
By the way, how are things?

hey am in acton which is not close but wanted to wish you luck. I gave up work in May to be SAHM and know that it is not easy to meet others and make real connections. I have found being on mumsnet very helpful and am beginning to find my feet at classes etc as I recognise other mums now!

Hi, I also have 2 boys - a 3 year old and a 3 month old. I am near Baker Street so not that far away.

Have you looked at the meet up thread about the christmas party at Coram Fields?

I'm in Fulham so quite close. Have dd 4 who is at schools during the day and small new baby so I am at home at the moment.

Hi, thanks for replying. Think that I am quite reticient really and have always found it difficult to make friends quickly. As such the group dynamics of playgroups I find difficult as I never seem to get the timing right. Maybe just need to relax a bit.

Thanks Ilana - I'll look at the thread on the christmas party.

Hi Happyspider - things are pretty good, love being at home with the boys and now that DS2 is a walking, climbing running machine its mostly a lot of fun !! How are you getting on?, you'll be an old hand by now.

Hi Kaz, we're doing fine, ds has been walking for a while and says a few words: amazing to see him develop into a little person!

I think I am a lot less worried than when he was born, as I think I know him and understand what he wants. I still get very worried when he's not well, but I think that is a mum's thing, and not just me.

How are yours getting on?

I still remember your good and sound advice... it helped me a lot in those early busy cloudy days of matherhood...
