Places to take under 5's in Nottingham

I'm looking for ideas of places to take children, under 5, on a wet day, in Nottingham.

It seems a shame because of the weather the kids are stuck at home.

Anyone recommend any indoor activity places i can take them to, by bus.

Cheers Karen

Morning duck. I am from Nottingham originally but haven't lived there for a while. My dad still lives in West Bridgford and when I visit him with my ds (4)we sometimes go to a big indoor play centre which is close to his house. I can't for the life of me remember what it's called but it's down by the John Lloyd Health Club in West Bridgford/Wilford.

I also take ds up to the Castle on rainy days. It often has a children's gallery with activities in it and other little activities dotted around the place but he also enjoys just running around in the large gallery spaces. Of course, the ulterior motive for going to the Castle is that we can nip into the Vic Centre ont he way home - it would be rude not to really.

On non-rainy days we go down to that big park in Ruddington which ds loves.

Hope that helps. Wish I was Nottingham this weekend actually, it really is a top place.

cheers rantineminor.

We love rud park and practically live their in the summer. We also like the university park nr wilford fire station.
Summer is so easy to entertain kids but the wet weather baffles me, Over 5's are ok but toddlers !!

If you have transport there is a play are next to the Goose pub at Gamston (on the Morrisons Roundabout) You don't have to eat there but they charge for entry into the indoor play bit. Also, the Shepherds pubb at Straglethorpe (on the way to Cotgrave, just off the A52) has a fab indoor play barn (used to be Charlie Chalks' think it's Barney's wood now).
When it stops raining the play area at Rushcliffe Country Park is fantastic too.

We sometimes go to Kool Kids (indoor play area) as its on a direct bus route from our house. When its not raining we often go and feed the animals at stonebridge city farm which is free to go in.
