So, who is up for one this time?

Do you prefer it to be:
Week-day or Weekends
Days or evenings

Coffee type meet, or drinks in local pub (doesn't have to be a late night, perhaps just evening)

Anyone out there? !!

OP posts:
tron · 30/01/2007 18:35

hiya, daytime coffee type would be better for me day doesn't matter, looks like coffee for 2 at the moment!!

KatyLiz · 31/01/2007 10:54

hiya, i'm newish on here, but a meet up sounds good! weekdays better for me, but don't really mind. Just needs to be somewhere I can get train to!

jofeb04 · 10/02/2007 21:57

How about daytime then? Cardiff or Newport? A Cuppa sounds like a pritty good idea!

OP posts:
phdlife · 15/02/2007 18:25

ummm, I'm a newish lurker in Penarth - not terribly social (broke + busy + huge = bad combo!) but might be enticed out if you did something daytime/coffeeish in Cardiff. I'd be the one who looks full-term at 31 weeks...

Sheraz · 15/02/2007 18:29

Hi I work shifts, so if you name a time, I can say if working or not. I am in Cwmbran, Newport or Cardiff will be fine.

PeachyClairColouredRoses · 15/02/2007 18:39

Same position as Sheraz- weekends better as long as kids allowed LOL! Place with a play area probably easier....

Sheraz · 15/02/2007 19:56

Bump for any more Welshies..

PeachesMcLean · 15/02/2007 21:38

Me too please. Either weekends or evenings for me. I work full time (but half term is looming and I have a lovely long week off with DS and very little planned. Bliss). Don't arrange anything around me though, but I will try and join in. I'm in Cardiff but can travel.

Has there ever been a Welsh meet up? I've lurked on some of the previous threads, where SallyStrawberry admirably tries to pin people down, but haven't seen if anything comes of it.

hockeypuck · 16/02/2007 17:05

ooh count me in for anything and everything!

And are we doing a South Wales Mile for Maude thing? I saw WelshBoris had talked about it on another thread but cant find the information out - count me in for that too!

wotsits · 16/02/2007 17:40

Me too for coffee!
And to echo hockeypuck, where can I find info on the Cardiff/S Wales Mile for Maude? I've tried searching without any luck...

ILoveBeingWelshBoris · 16/02/2007 17:51

I've just bumped it wotsits

wotsits · 16/02/2007 17:53

Ta, ILBWB

ILoveBeingWelshBoris · 16/02/2007 17:53

Just call me WB

Overrun · 16/02/2007 20:18

Hi, I am still up for this, but just not sure whether it will actually happen , unless I there have been meet ups that I haven't been invited to

PeachyClair · 16/02/2007 22:39

I know in Newport there ezeeeplay where kids can play whilst adults drink coffee- is there anything like that in Cardiff if we're meeting there? Thats assuming we do it whilst kids are around.

PeachesMcLean · 16/02/2007 22:49

There's a few places in Cardiff:
Jump - though I think people with less confident children under 5 find it a bit much. I don't though!
Ants in your Pants - smells of chips a bit but heh - children are busy.
Cafe Junior - nice coffee but for under fives only really.

I find trying to organise an evening out, even for my closest friends, is a nightmare. Let alone with you people who aren't real ! If anyone's at a loose end in halfterm, let me know. We're sure to do an afternoon at Roath Park at some stage. Otherwise a weekend afternoon would be good for me, but as I say, don't arrange anything round me. Will try and join in whatever.

PeachyClair · 17/02/2007 00:50

I know we are in cardiff Friday as we promised the boys a trip to the museum that day, if anyone is around?

Overrun · 17/02/2007 16:08

We could do something on Friday. I know all the places mentioned and am happy to go to any of them. Why not just go round the musuem? My dss love the dinasours bones if they are still there, and some body told me that the cafe is very nice. There is a lift down to it, and they have lots of high chairs, and colouring stuff. Sometimes they do special kiddie tours in half term.

PeachesMcLean · 17/02/2007 19:15

What's happening at the museum on Friday (just the "Cardiff" ones obviously)

Overrun · 17/02/2007 19:42

That sounds good, worth a look at any rate, so who else is up for it?

Overrun · 17/02/2007 19:44

I shoudl also say, that you can use the museum car park all day for just £2.50, and if the museum pales, we could even walk into town, and have a coffee some where, look around the outside of the castle, or Bute park.
At the museum btw, if you have pushchairs, you have to take the lift by the main steps, and use an intercom to call one of the attendants down to get you. Its an old fashioned lift, which mine enjoy using. There are also lockers to store coats, bags etc

PeachyClair · 17/02/2007 22:54

Well we're definitely going and just think of all the MN kudos- educational meet up at the museum lol

My email is [email protected].

I will have Dh with me, as I need him if ds3 gets agitated (SN). He is however not hairy (but does work with truckers)

2nervesleft · 17/02/2007 23:00

Hiya while some of you are here can I ask a question?

A mile for Maude.

Who would be up for joining in a Swansea walk? Boris and I are trying to decide if there would be enough interest or whether we should join the Cardiff walk.

Can you vote here? If you don't mind a hijack? Thanks

PeachyClair · 17/02/2007 23:05

I'd rather do a Cardiff one, as we are this way over but tbh I haven't been able to find any details and don't thin one is being organised.
