lol, well up to you Mabs, I can get you from shoreham station then if you prefer, I don't mind
so do we know how many are coming then?

sunnydelight · 04/07/2006 21:46

It's a very tastefully immobilized foot MABS - I should have guessed you wouldn't have some garish cast

MABS · 05/07/2006 11:03

thanks Sunny x

desperatehousewife · 05/07/2006 11:07

really gutted - i can't come - have tickets to a festival (oh my god, i am a festival virgin too!) in suffolk. Will be away all weekend playing bongos, prancing around in patchwork pantaloons and expressing myself through the medium of modern dance. Or something.

have a lovely time though chaps. Wish I was coming, really do. It's been such a long time since I've seen you all...sob, sniffle....

MABS · 05/07/2006 12:24

Choccie - a lift from the house would be fantastic, if you REALLY don't mind.

chocolatemummy · 05/07/2006 18:12

Festival sounds good! last festival i went to was Glastonbury, a few years ago sadly. Great fun thought and you meet all kinds of crazy people

mabs,I wouldn't normally but you are in plaster and its not exactly miles away from me is it.
Honest, its fine

MABS · 05/07/2006 18:15

V many thanks Choccy,much appreciated x

chocolatemummy · 05/07/2006 18:16

blimey that was a quick repsonse obviously you are online
I don;t know anything about any of you really, what kids have you got? how old are you?
do any of you work?
I hope we have stuff to actually talk about when we get together, was the last meeting easy or strained?

MABS · 05/07/2006 18:52

Never stained, tho we are quite diverse bunch really. I have dd aged 11 and ds aged 5, both at school in Hove. I work p/t for training co and dh is in airline industry. You?

Come on the rest of ya, give a bit of background or i might have to do it for you ...

Cam · 05/07/2006 19:23

Stained Mabs?

I should hope not

No chocolatemummy, strained is the last word I would use to describe a Brighton m/net meetup

As for details about myself, nope you'll just have to wait and see, or do what everyone else does if they don't know people, search the threads

Cam · 05/07/2006 19:24

DHW, I'm very if you won't be there

sorry girls, only stained things are our clothes when we dribble red wine. Of course, Cam only drink Babycham with a cherry in - she's a classy old bird.

Tortington · 05/07/2006 20:35

3 kids all teenagers - work full time.
the meetings are never strained - theres always too much mn gossip

OP posts:
MABS · 05/07/2006 21:05

Fattiemamma - my ds aged 5 also has SN, he has cerebral palsy.

Cam · 06/07/2006 10:00

Custy your post sounds like your 3 teenagers all work full-time

What's wrong with a nice Babycham, I like the picture of the bambi on the bottle

LadyTophamHatt · 06/07/2006 11:39

Cam, are we meeting at the station or on train?

Do we wear silly hats or something to be recognised??

sunnydelight · 06/07/2006 14:51

I remember my first meet up, it's really strange walking into a venue by yourself and looking round trying to work out which table of women might be the mumsnetters!

chocolatemummy · 06/07/2006 16:23

Mabs, my husband has offered to drive us so we can have a drink! blimey

anyway, I am 31 have one child 3 in november, prob going to sound a right idiot now but I'm not sure what half of these dh and ds and sn mean?
dh husband yes?
sn?

MABS · 06/07/2006 16:40

ds - son, sn - special needs. Are you sure he doesn't mind picking me up Choccie?

chocolatemummy · 06/07/2006 17:15

no, and I think he wants to see who I am going out with, I don't go out that often because I am billy no mates!

fattiemumma · 06/07/2006 21:48

mabs my Ds has Gross/fine motor delay, SAL disorder ( word finding) and autistic spectrum behavioural disorder....basicly he doesnt fit into any one box so they just call it autistic spectrum.

i have seen you on the SN boards but i dont post very often as i feel like a bit of a lightweight in comparison to some of you. i often read your posts and thank my lucky stars that Ds is the way he is! and that doesnt happen too often outside of MN i can tell you .

Tortington · 06/07/2006 23:11

mabs you will have to be on your very best behaviour in front of chocs dh. don't tell him to broke your foot whilst on hen party in foreign country for gods sake. and leave the gin on the table before leaving the house

OP posts:
MABS · 07/07/2006 14:08

Oh Custy, you are a spoilsport, acn i bring the vodka hipflask still?
Fattiemamma - my ds has v mild cp, so i could myself v 'lucky' also.

chocolatemummy · 07/07/2006 17:07

lmao. I am a big gin fan and so is he so don't worry about that.

I am manager of a vocational day service for young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

I can manage a whole bunch of them and staff but I can't even manage my own 2.5 year old!
I think being so aware of all the symptoms and misdiagnosis of youngsters in that area I am utlra paranoid about her behaviour-poor little thing.
I don't think she has any real problems she is just a bloody handful!

Looking forward to a good piss up next week girlies
