Thanks for all the encouraging comments. I will come and I can be the person sat in the corner while everyone else says 'I'm glad I'm not as fat/scruffy/drunk as her'. :)

(And bloody hell, Gigantaur, having checked out your profile, if you are fat and scruffy then we're going to need some new words to describe me!).

Now I need to look into hotels and coaches...

HowsTheSerenity · 16/09/2010 11:48

The site to the pub is down. So I have no idea where it is.
Either way I will come. Will paypal you on pay day.
I've never been to a meet before but this will be my one and only opportunity!!!

roundthebend4 · 16/09/2010 11:54

Right,I have paid for my ticket, booked a coach, and booked a room at the Travel Lodge Farrington on Kings Cross Road (all on DH's credit card, I might add!).

This is very exciting. Do we have to wear badges stating our views on formula feeding, independent schools, bumsex etc?

Round - there are 3 of is staying at the Kings Cross Travelodge since it does 'family' rooms that we can squeeze 3 people into. Wanna join us? There must be others who would share with you.

HEY EVERYONE! WHO WANTS TO STAY AT THE TRAVELODGE KINGS *CROSS8 WITH US?

Pardon the shouting, want to make sure you're all paying attention! Grin

My choir started up again this week after the summer hols, which reminded me that I'm doing a singing thing at the Royal Albert Hall in November. I had a quick panic that it would be the same night, but no, the singing is on Sun 28th! So luckily I'm already in London - saves me going in twice! But I will have to amuse myself all day Sunday after they kick us out of the hotel... perhaps I'll be all cultural and go to the science museum.

I'm also doing a 10-mile race through mud and filth on the Sat morning before the party, so this is gonna be one exhausting crazy weekend!!

Apologies for the double post - darned work computers don't like MN (technically it's a blocked site but you can wiggle around it).

ShirleyKnot · 16/09/2010 16:08

bellavita · 16/09/2010 20:20

Is it party dresses then? > >

Gigantaur · 16/09/2010 20:22

most people turn up in smart casual. some (kbear and Mo) arrive in glitzy outifts and ultra sexy boots.

I wore a red dress once and have never lived it down.

i vote for wearing whatever you are comfortable in. though if reality borrows her sil's velour trackie i shant be bringing her.

OP posts:
bellavita · 16/09/2010 20:24

Can do smart casual, but it might be a good excuse to browse the shops Grin

fillybuster · 16/09/2010 20:34

Aaaarghhhhh....I didn't consider the looming wardrobe crisis when I signed up for this ....I've got a 12wk old and am bfing so NOTHING FITS fgs.....

Right. I shall be the flabby one in leggings and a loose top attempting to hide her middle knocking back multiple G&Ts at the bar

Gigantaur · 16/09/2010 20:39

oh filly honestly you shouldn't worry.

I break every MN style rule ever. Im not even thin enough to fit in a Boden tent let alone the latest catwalk must have.

OP posts:
ShirleyKnot · 16/09/2010 20:54

I'm so excited!

Right, I am wearing whatever fits something glittery and red and with tinsel and something Winnie The Pooh and pushing a buggy that is the BEST buggy ever (um, kids are 10 and 13, I have no idea) and breastfeeding someone I met on the train and wearing Vital Luminaire and some Benetint (as blush and liptint) and not caring because I'm cool anyway and ALL OF IT.

Gigantaur · 16/09/2010 20:56

no SHirley, you must not be a style queen. You have to become my new bestest bud for when i move nearer you and mo and Kbear.

if you are a style icon i can't be seen near you and therefore will not be able to stalk invite you over for tea and hobnobs
