Hi there,

We've received the following media request.

Thanks,
MNHQ

Have you or anyone in your family been falsely accused of AI ‘cheating’ at school or university?

I’m a documentary (radio) and podcast producer at the BBC and I’m looking for students willing to share their stories – what does it feel like to be falsely accused, what exactly happens when a school/university issues this judgement, how can a student prove they haven’t cheated, how does the appeals process work, what impact does all of this have on the student?

There are lots of stories out there about the problems caused by AI cheating in academia, but I’m also aware of the innocent students impacted, particularly those who are neurodiverse or with English as a second language.

Please get in touch here if you think you can help - [email protected] – even if you’re not keen to feature (or be named) in the documentary.

I’m hoping to speak to possible case studies on background within the next month or so. Thanks.

Your problem is going to be that most people who have used AI to cheat in this scenario will claim they were falsely accused. How are you going to verify whether that accusation was false or not?
