Looking to speak with women about experiences of TFMR for documentary

Hello, I’m a filmmaker and mum based in the UK, currently developing a documentary about experiences of TFMR (termination for medical reasons).

In 2023, I went through TFMR following a diagnosis of a rare chromosomal condition. This film is a very personal project, and I’m hoping to connect with other women m, especially women from
BME backgrounds, who may be open to sharing their experiences.

The film aims to gently and honestly explore the emotional reality of TFMR, as well as the longer-term impact—there is no agenda, just a desire to create something truthful and compassionate that may help others feel less alone.

Taking part could involve a filmed interview or an initial informal conversation—whatever feels comfortable for you. Everything would be approached with sensitivity, care, and full consent.

When and where would I be able to see this, please? I had a tfmr 12 years ago. For me, it was a mistake as I have never got over it and live with terrible guilt.

I am sorry for your loss. I had a TFMR the same year as you.

What has been hardest for me is that I don’t have any children despite countless subsequent rounds of IVF (my one pregnancy was a ‘miracle’). It’s very lonely as I understand many people find some comfort in their other children. I’d be willing to have a confidential conversation, initially, to understand your project better.
