Hi there,

We've received the following media request.

Thanks,
MNHQ

The Financial Times is making a podcast about human interactions with AI and what role AI can play in our lives. It will be a narrative podcast centred on real and human stories. In one episode, we aim to explore how families are approaching AI chatbots, examining how children and teenagers have engaged with them, and how parents are navigating the new technology. I have a background in producing sensitive human-led documentaries on real-life interactions with technology (see The Instagram Effect on the BBC) and have been digging into human-computer interactions in my role. If any parents would be interested in contributing, please do get in touch.

Here are some things you should know about the process:

  1. if you reach out or we connect, there is no obligation or pressure on you to follow through with an on-record interview.
  2. Before an interview I like to have a chat where I can tell you a bit more about the project and answer any questions you have about the process, as well as discuss anything you aren’t comfortable sharing on the record (eg your real name, any particular events etc.)
  3. During an interview, there is no obligation to answer anything that makes you feel uncomfortable and you are able to stop at any point. I’d like an interview to be led by you and your story, rather than a particular angle I am pursuing.

If you are interested in discussing further, and learning more about the process, please do get in touch over email ([email protected]) or Signal (criddle.67).
