The OU module websites opened yesterday! Is anyone else starting new modules? Or embarking on their first? How are you feeling about it?

I’m doing three L2 modules this year so intending on getting stuck in asap. I work full time and have 2 dc and a dog so it’s going to be a tough year!

I did several OU courses when I was younger and really enjoyed the studying and challenge. Unfortunately they’re priced too high for me to access now.

That’s such a shame. I self funded a couple of L1 modules, but luckily I live in Wales so they’re cheaper. My employer is paying for these three thankfully. I’m not sure that they would’ve agreed to fund them all at full price though.

I loved doing my OU modules. I've since moved on to an MA and then a PhD, which I'm deep into writing up, but I'm still hugely proud of my BA. If it wasn't for the cost, I might contemplate another MA, possibly in art history and maybe through the OU which presented the subject beautifully.

I am doing a module in Latin. I don’t find it that expensive although maybe Scottish students get a lower price. I am otherwise self funding. I looked at doing a masters at a brick uni and that was 9k or 19k. A 1 week Latin summer school in Durham is £900.

I started with an L2 module as I don’t need a degree

Scottish students pay less than English students, which is another example of Scottish people getting preferential treatment. I can’t afford English prices now and wouldn’t qualify for a student loan, so I’m out.

In Scotland we pay higher taxes

I would love to do a Classics degree with them, but at £4000 a module tis but a dream!

I've done a few courses in the past and just started an MSc. Excited and somewhat scared!

Finding with a postgrad loan
