Don't really have anyone I can share this with in real life, joined an open university course at the beginning of the year, got diagnosed with cancer not long after starting and thought fuck it, I will stay the course even if I fail but results came out today and just found out I passed!

A much needed win and just even though it sounds boastful, feel really proud of myself as struggled a lot at school. So just wanted to shout that I passed into the ether!

That's wonderful. I have an OU degree but nothing like your situation. It was damn hard. Congratulations. You are amazing. Good luck.

Helpplease88 · 30/10/2024 18:38

Mine was an open degree. It's fun! Look after yourself.

StMarieforme · 30/10/2024 18:52

@cactimouse get you and your distinction! nice one 💐

I did my masters at the OU - I did art history and it was fab. What sort of thing do you fancy studying next?

Are you studying for work/career reasons or sheer pleasure @cactimouse ?

Started with the idea of career reasons, but I joke to people I'm having a "health life crisis" as not at the age for a mid life one yet and I've really been focusing on things I want to do, just for the hell of it now or to try something new, with hobbies and just life in general.
So I'm considering just doing a language module for the fun of it next, rubbish at languages and always wistfully thought of learning one, so today I've been eyeing up the German and French beginners modules, as I'm really wanting a Europe trip when this is all over and I'd love to use German at a Christmas market or I'd love to use french at some lovely restaurant in France! If anyone has done either language and wants to let me know which one would be easiest 😂would be much appreciated!
