Retraining as an Educational Psychologist at 45?

Hi,
I’m 45 and have been working as a peripatetic teacher in the performing arts for two decades. I also have a masters in Language and Communication, I’m thinking of re training in psychology with the aim to become an Educational Psychologist. I’ve chatted to a few universities and I estimate it’ll take me about 5 years to re train, all in all.
Any initial thoughts/ advice from practising EPs out there? Thanks!

The only happy EPs I know are those who have got ten years experience in the LA and are now self-employed. They are enjoying it, but obviously being self employed has its own difficulties. The ones who are working for the LA spend all their time doing statutory assessments and having to tie the party line in their reports-they are ground down, disillusioned with the system and looking to escape!

What’s your 5-year pathway-do you have a psychology degree?
