Medieval History, It would help me to read some of the work that is in Latin. Textbooks and serious stuff contains fairy big chunks of Latin and I would like to read it. Google won't translate it either.
Any suggestions please.

City Lit do in person and online Latin courses - can’t vouch for how good they are but came up in a conversation recently with a retired classics teacher. ( She’s not teaching there but doing support work for teachers in schools, and we talked about other forms of access) There will be others but City Lit is an established institution.

I haven't tried it but Duolingo do have Latin as one of the languages they offer.

Duolingo is not helpful, really. It's busy work that will make you FEEL like you're making progress, but you are not.

If you want to self learn with a book, Wheelock's is the most highly regarded starting point. My daughter started Latin in secondary last year using the Cambridge Latin Course, and honestly - I really rate it! It eases you in really nicely, and you will never feel like you are falling behind.

There are various online courses that you can do. One is Oxford Latinitas, which takes the active learning approach and gets you SPEAKING Latin! Which seems wild, but some people really love it - https://www.oxfordlatinitas.org/latin-courses-offered/

Finally, there are loads of resources in the Latin subreddit - https://www.reddit.com/r/latin/

I would recommend Wheelock's or Cambridge. But Duolingo is not going to help.

On the bright side, medieval Latin is much easier than Classical, so you will feel like you are making progress fairly soon, and can when you have completed the basics thoroughly, you can progress to https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reading-Medieval-Latin-Keith-Sidwell/dp/052144747X - which Amazon informs me I last purchased in 2006! 😵
