Copywriting > Prompt Engineering?

Hoping for some wise words of inspiration from the wise women of Mumsnet!

I'm currently a self-employed copywriter and editor, however demand and budgets have both been waning quite significantly over the past year. I fear AI is going to make my skills obsolete if I don't find some way to get ahead of the game.

Does anyone know anything about AI Prompt Engineering/Editing as a speciality? My thinking is that my editing skills could be helpful in designing more accurate prompts but I'm concerned that this might also require technical knowledge/coding skills? It's obviously a relatively new discipline so not a huge amount of information out there, but I've completed an initial LinkedIn intro webinar on AI and LLMs and plan to explore more.

Alternatively, if anyone has any great ideas as to areas that might be a natural transition for an experienced word geek, I'd be all ears as I'm currently feeling quite overwhelmed! Caring responsibilities mean that I ideally need to be able to WFH, but I'm open to pretty much any suggestions at this stage.

Thank you!

I'm in a similar position I took the Toloka test to do AI text and failed despite being a copywriter/editor like yourself! Has knocked me a bit to be honest but am going to try and refocus energy and do some data analysis training

Sorry to hear that @507am. Toloka has popped up a fair bit in my searches so that was going to be my next stop too but I fear I may also strike out due to a lack of technical nous.

Am now wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree and whether I should just look at retraining entirely, but am totally paralysed by next moves. :/

Do you mean getting into the field that deals with natural language processing? As far as I am aware, this is computational linguistics, though it might go by other names as well. There are Masters courses in this field, if you're interested.
