NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning
I'm considering doing this course. Has anyone else done it and why have you gone into work wise as a result?

I want to be a TA, in a primary school.

I am mid thirties, haven't worked in 10 years as have been a home maker. I'm ready to retrain and want some guidance on the best way into becoming a teaching assistant.

Thank you

Emmamichelle7 the level 2 award is theoretical only, really though an employer would be looking for the certificate.
You don't have to do the level 2 before the level 3, so if you are ever likely to do it then best just to jump straight to that other you'll be covering a lot of the same work, and the cost isn't that much more for the level 3.
It does help to have a voluntary place in a school though to do the certificate or diploma

The level 3 you have to be in a school placement. If you are going down the agency route, sometimes they do have long term placements available so it’s worth asking. Agency work is more money, but it’s 0hr contract so if you aren’t needed, you don’t get paid.
