Has anyone gone back to uni/college as a mature student?

I'm 28 in October and I'm going back to college to do a foundation course in health care at college to then hopefully either go on to University or an apprenticeship type thing the course is an adults learners course but I'm worried I'll be around 19/20 year olds and feel very out of place has anyone has any experiences going back into education?

28 is nothing. I started my second masters degree at 43 and am enjoying the process of being in a structured learning environment.

Just stick to it in the beginning and it will start getting easier as the time goes by. Good luck!

I went to Manchester Uni in my early 40s. I was being bypassed by graduates in my former profession and wanted a bit of paper to prove i was just as good as them. I enjoyed research so much that I decided to pivot into becoming an academic. I stayed on at the same uni to do my masters and doctorate. I socialised mostly with the lecturers, 20 year olds do not want to socialise with someone who is the same age as their mum. Unlike other mature students I was child free so had no childcare or family issues. I got myself a council flat so I had my own space.
