Online Interior Design course

Hi there, has anyone here done an online course in Interior Design that you'd recommend?

It's purely for my own interest, I wouldn't want to use it to set up a business or anything, but it's something I really enjoy and would like to learn more about.

Thanks in advance.

Hi! No, but I'm thinking of enrolling on this course & was also hoping to get some advice too. I'm looking for a career change, so a bit different. I know I have a natural flair for it, but I don't know how to turn that into a job. They offer a variety of different courses & seem like a good provider from what I can see: www.baid.co.uk/courses

This gives a bit more info. about it too:

That looks brilliant, thanks so much! Like you, I feel that I have a natural talent for it, and I think it'd be really interesting.

Good luck!

Oh cool! Are you slightly scared about it too? I feel like it’s probably natural to be. I just worry I won’t be any good at the technical side of it, plans, CAD etc. as I’m used to just putting things together organically… Also torn between whether to go for the online or evening/weekend course 🤔.

I think for me - because I'm just doing it for myself - I'm not overly worried. If I can't do it I can't do it!

I've just found a Wowcher online course called Interior design for beginners, it's £9 (normally £300, allegedly!) so I think I'll sign up for that. That might be enough for me to get some more knowledge and then I can do more if I want to. And if it turns out that I'm actually no good at it at all, well I won't feel like I've wasted much.

It's a fascinating subject isn't it? I was in my new friend's house for the first time last week. Her house is exactly the same as mine, externally, but so different on the inside. Hers is very minimalist, white settees, grey walls, grey carpets, no ornaments (or indeed surfaces to put them on), no fire or fireplace, wall mounted TV, no candles allowed in case they mark the walls etc. Mine is much more old fashioned - Chesterfield settees, William Morris wallpaper, massive wooden mantelpiece, stove, ornaments, photos and pictures everywhere and we have so many candles lit in the winter evenings that it looks like we're either holding a seance or in the middle of a power cut 😂. She and I are the same age so it's not a generational thing either.

Such an interesting subject. Best of luck with it, and I hope you enjoy it whichever method of study you choose.

Hello, did you do the course in the end, and what did you think of it? Thanks!
