Mature study and retraining
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello all.
Currently work as a Food and Beveridge team leader for the National Trust. I've not really been enjoying my role for a while. I am single, pregnant and have a mortgage to cover. Assuming everything goes well at my 20 week scan, I will start maternity leave next April.
I desperately want to look for a new job. Something between 25k-30k. I'm really struggling to find anything suitable. I can't take time out to retrain, but I could always do a short course to gain a new skill.
Any suggestions or words of advice, please? I so want to build a better life.

Look on the open university to see what courses you might be interested in?
If you want to move into a different area you will need to decide what you are aiming for.

I can't afford to take time out to retrain. I could only potentially do a short course in my spare time or during maternity leave.

I’m certain you’ll spell ‘beverage’ correctly on your CV!
It would be helpful to know what qualifications you currently hold - and how long you’ve been in your current job / previous jobs - to understand where you fit in the job market.
If you can afford it you might be well advised to consult a proper, professional careers advisor, so you don’t waste time or money on anything that might not ultimately help you progress.

I like the idea of speaking with a careers advisor.
Previous roles have included working in a call centre and education as a TA. I definitely do not want to work in education again!
I have been in my current role for five years.
I was thinking maybe something involving finance or HR.
