Feel burnt out after MA

Did anyone feel burnt out after finishing their MA? I have got my final results today from a health care related MA which involved really gruelling placements, dissertation etc over 3 years, alongside work/family. I also had a bad accident in my final year, and had to claw my way back to complete the course,, so it's a miracle I passed. I should feel joyous, but instead feel numb & exhausted & can't face reading anything (normally I love reading!), or job hunting. Just wondered if anyone else felt like this after their MA, if so, how long did it take to recover? Thank you.

Well I haven't done an ma but after my degree I felt just the same. Tbh it was an anti climax. I expected to feel really proud and happy but I didn't! If I could have afforded to do an ma I probably would have.

Congratulations, what an amazing achievement. Flowers
I'm only one term into my masters and I feel burnt out..!

Yes, I did. In the months after submitting my final MA portfolio I felt as if wings had been ripped from my shoulders mid-flight, sending me plummeting to the ground. Awful howling emptiness, utter exhaustion, and suddenly no idea how to move forward. It took a long time to adjust.

But Congratulations to you! 🎉 Take some time to relax and … evolve.

I had this exact feeling the day after sitting my final exam for my undergrad. I went to visit a friend in Sheffield and went shopping in Meadowhell and I felt utterly dejected, exhausted and bereft. What's weird is I already had a plan for later that summer, i had a place on a postgrad training course, but it was all very weird.

Congratulations on your success!! Do allow yourself to rest before you launch whatever you do next

I’m the same. I’m getting my final result tomorrow. I’m completely wrung out. 2.5 years of high levels of stress isn’t good for anyone.

Congratulations on passing. Enjoy your free time!
