Hello there. Apologies if this has already been posted but I couldn't find anything about TEFL training. It's something I want to do but when researching there seem to be different levels and options available which has left me feeling a bit confused. I already have a degree if that helps. Has anybody done a TEFL course and can advise on what level I should go for? Thank you so much in advance.

@Wheresmemum yes definitely!! I would love to know how you're getting on with it!!
It's been the most challenging thing I've ever done by a long long way. The climate, the culture, the language is completely unfamiliar and could not be more different to what I'm used to. But I keep pushing through and putting one foot in front of the other. I've met some great people and this has kept me going.

Fabulous @PrettyPrim ! It sounds like an amazing learning experience! I don't want to look back with regret at not doing it so I'm definitely going for it! 💯 I'm glad to hear you've met some great people and that you've stay determined. You're an inspiration ✨️ xx

I’d really like an ongoing thread for TEFL. I’m really enjoying the course but it’s remote learning so I don’t have anyone in RL to chat to.

@PrettyPrim did you find it easy to find a job? Did you feel you were thrown in at the deep end? I did the CELTA a number of years ago, but can't imagine having a class to myself from the very beginning.

That's great @Sourisblanche , it would be great to use this space for chat/advice/info. Are you doing the CertTesol and how are you getting on with it? X

So I've just booked my writing task and interview for the CertTesol. It's in a few weeks. Any advice, information etc much appreciated! 💐

I did TEFL in Italy in my 20s and do wonder how it would be different today - and if I could maybe pick it up again later in life. Are you in a city, @PrettyPrim? I was teaching in a smallish town in the north east, but lived in a small nearby city for a number of years. It remains one of the best things I've done, but it was pretty lonely at times in the first year. It only got better from there, though.
