I’m excited and terrified in equal measure. It’s done over 2 years and paid for by my employer. No idea how I’ll find the time but dh is amazing and encouraged me to do it promising we’ll make it work. I know he’ll take on what he needs to re dc etc to support me.

21 years ago I dropped out of uni after being raped. I’ve worked my way up, proving myself on the job but always has this insecurity that everyone else has a degree. I now have a Russell group Uni telling me my work experience is more than comparable to a degree so I can jump up the pgd. I can’t wait to get started!

(By Christmas I expect to be messaging on here in a mad panic about my 2 January deadline but for now I’m just happy.)

How wonderful. I wish you every success and I hope you enjoy every minute of it, even the panicky deadlines!

HumptyDumpty2022 · 11/07/2022 20:37

Congratulations!
You’re giving me confidence to take the Uni place I’ve been offered to start in Sept! I work long full time hours and worried I won’t fit in a degree remotely!!

NeedAHoliday2021 · 11/07/2022 20:46

@HumptyDumpty2022 there’s never the right time but we’ll just make it work. My organisation has signed up to allow me to have 20% work time as study (1 day a week). I can’t actually believe they’ve agreed to it but I know it’ll be lots more than that. Good luck!

Thanks and good luck @NeedAHoliday2021 it sounds like you have a good employer!

NeedAHoliday2021 · 11/07/2022 22:15

@HumptyDumpty2022 it’s an NHS apprenticeship - I work in a hospital but they get funding. I’m still shocked they agreed.
