A full time degree whilst working part time with OU

Thais it really. I want to do the open degree I work two full days at the moment so do you think this is achievable? I have studied before so not completely new to it and would have three full days to study alongside evenings and weekends.
Was going to go to a bricks Uni but can't afford to give up work. Looked at strident finance and would only get 4850 and the fees paid!
Anyone else as bonkers ls as me?

Do it.,

Loads of students study full time and have a part time job. I would say it is doable.

Yes. I’m doing it “full time” and it works about at about 2 days a week for me, a bit more when for a couple of weeks when a paper is due. I think if you’ve studied before, you should be able to manage it.

(Ps - don’t forget full time means you might be eligible for a rebate on your council tax. Look into that if you decide to go for it. )

I have just completed first module in MBA with OU- it was grand. And I work full time. Hard work but enjoyable.

Thanks for your replies! I did the 'OU' timetable and it said I would be unable to do it full time. I think I can do it whilst working part time! Is it about 8 tma's per year?

Totally doable but will depend largely on how much you put into it. I worked full-time whilst studying (engineering) part-time + raising two kids so tough going but thoroughly worth it. I think I could've switched to part-time working and full-time study no problem.

Personally I found passing (~50% grades) quite straightforward but achieving marks into the 70's and 90%'s exponentially more time consuming. But as ever it'll depend on the subject and what you're looking to achieve. Either way the OU is fab and one of the best out there.
