Google Digital Garage is your best bet.
When you say basic knowledge what does that mean? Do you mean you know the mechanics of them working and that’s it or do you understand analytics, content creation?
It would also help to know what industry you work in - so if social media is essential (like a profit generating business) or just nice to have (NHS?). Do any social media policies or comms plans currently exist?

If your employer has tasked you with new duties it’s their responsibility to research, provide and pay for suitable training, surely?

Thanks.
I work in non profit, so will be about generating interest in the organisation rather than sales etc.
I need to write a strategy/plan etc and apply it. I know about content creation and a little about analytics.
They are going to pay but I have to find the course. There's no -onein the organisation who can train me

At your level start with the free Google Digital Garage. Once you’ve worked through that and worked out which bits you specifically need more training in you can do more specific courses, for example I’ve just put my assistant through some graphic design training so all content is created really well.

Being asked to write a comms plan with no previous experience is a big ask - but generally you’d be focusing on the different channels, what they’ll need to achieve, what their audience are, timing etc. But if you’re only using two social channels that would be easier…generally it’s more of a ‘how do we do X’ and then select the channel that would achieve it, if you see what I mean.

Have a look at York St John, they offer excellent digital marketing courses (although some are more on the academic side and I get the impression you’re wanting something more hands on)
