Has anyone with a similar body to me managed to get rid of their belly fat.
What diet and exercise did you do and how long did it take you?
I always had a flat stomach but since giving up smoking I put on 4 stone!
I'm 42, 5'7 and 185lb, size 14.
I have an event in 3 months and would really like to feel better about myself.

Mine is similar but my stomach is partly like this because I have diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles) post pregnancies. And I could do with losing weight too.

I'm currently eating a couple of hundred calories under my baseline every day, and not counting extra calories for exercise. I'm eating about 1.5-2g of protein per kilo of my weight each day (so I'm about 70kg so that's 100-140g of protein) and that then means my diet is fairly low carb. I've lost a few kilos in about 6 weeks, and my stomach is definitely lessening.

Also doing specific physio/pilates exercises for my stomach, as well as regular gym visits for weight training. Cardio is just walking (about 45-60 mins per day).

Sorry I should also have included a few details - I'm 40, 5'4" and 72kgs (159lbs).

From what I understand you can't spot reduce fat from one area (sadly!). But what you can do is improve posture via fitness and weight training/pilates, and generally build muscle instead of holding fat which all then helps to look more streamlined.

Although honestly half of my battle has been how my body feels, and I feel far better after just a few weeks of increased movement and protein, and (slightly) decreased calories!

Keto diet and the gym with a mixture of weights and cardio and track what your eating using my fitness pal. There's loads of research on low carb diets and why they are good for use . Look into the glucose goddess , diary of a ceo has very good podcast with many guests on the subject as far as I remember.
