What can I have at Costa?

Hi folks, I meeting a friend next week at Costa. I don't drink tea or coffee so I've never been.

I've looked at the menu and there doesn't seem to be much I can have that is low carb and low sugar (diabetic). Do they also generally have diet coke or Pepsi? Or any other suggestions gratefully received!

Do you have to meet at Costa? If you don't drink tea or coffee, I don't think there's anything there for you - and from the food point of view, it's all carb-heavy. There must be somewhere better than that!

They do bottles of cold drinks, and also cold drinks (iced coffee and frappes) however I'm not certain if they are seasonal. They are still coming up on the menu board so I would assume not.

They do Diet Pepsi or Coke, so you’ll be able to have that.

Depending on how strict you are- they often have the Carbkilla protein bars, but these aren’t strict keto and many people avoid them. Despite the name they come in at around 20-25g of carbs, so would knock you out of ketosis if you are having yogurt and veg that day.

But apart from that- I don’t think there is anything acceptable. Certainly no hot/proper food choices.

Do you drink herbal teas? They do those. Otherwise a bottle of sugar free something.

I don’t drink tea, coffee or hot choc and it’s somewhere I avoid (and I’m not low carb/sugar). It’s poor if you don’t do coffee basically. Go elsewhere or you will end up on water.

Thanks folks.

I'm meeting a friend whose mum has just died and she's suggested venue so I'm just rolling with it.

As long as there is something I can drink, even if it's water I'm fine. If it was just a preference diet rather than for my health I'd not bother too much.

I don't drink herbal teas either. Total fussy pants. To be fair I don't really do hot drinks, in the past I'd have had a hot chocolate occasionally but I don't bother anymore. I'm fine with nothing to eat. I think most bars that are low carb are not low sugar with the exception of kind bars.

I'd have a bag of peanuts and a diet coke if we were doing the pub 😁

They definitely have bottles of cold drinks, it's Pepsi rather than Coke I think.

Food wise the selection is pretty crappy but they usually have Greek yoghurt with berry compote if you feel you need to get something, could always just eat the yoghurt layer and leave the compote.

Thank you that's useful to know. I could try that if she is having something to eat.

Just trying to not make it about me if that makes sense so just want to have something to fit with what she wants.

She does know that I don't drink tea and coffee etc but it's been a while and she obvs has other things on her mind. To be fair we tend to meet up in a group for dinner rather than an afternoon thing.
