Hiya,
Found out in March that I'm prediabetic and have been in denial about it but did start going to slimming world to loses weight but all those carbs are not helping me blood sugar wise and I know lots of people do low carb. When calculating carbs how do I calculate the "net" carbs? Is it just the ones listed "carbs"?
I learnt alot about low GI and I followed a low carb diet when pregnant as I had gestational diabetes. Any advice appreciated

DP has been put on this by his GP for his diabetes. https://amclowcarb.com/green-foods-yellow-foods-red-foods/

I've recommended it about 5 times already on Mumsnet as it's been so effective. It can be high fat though so you might want to check with your GP first.

I'm doing this plan OP.... https://www.lowcarbprogram.com/

I am type 2 diabetic, and am getting more and more carb sensitive as I'm getting older. It runs a 12 week program where you make one or two changes a week and it's really easy to get your head around. There's a lot of free information on there too.

I do have to watch my gallbladder so am careful with the fat, but it's really helped stabilise my blood sugar readings. I was getting an average read of 13 at one point; now every single one is under 8 and usually under 7 - and that's just in 3 weeks.
