I need to get back into low carbing. I have done it before, with great success, but now I have an added challenge. Since Covid I intensely dislike eggs and have lost my taste for meat. I can eat meat in some forms, just not as much or as often as before. But when I LC in the past, eggs were my standby: scrambled or fried for breakfast, in quiches and muffins, and hardboiled as a snack. I could go through 1-2 dozen a week.

What can I use instead, to get enough easy protein?

Tinned tuna? Greek yoghurt? Smoked salmon? Nuts? Cottage cheese

Can't eat fish in the morning. Standard breakfast is Greek yogurt with nuts, but it's a relatively carby dish so I'm not sure it would be good to have as a snack as well as breakfast. Maybe a couple of months down the line, but I need to be very strict at first.

If I'm going for a high protein breakfast I'll make porridge and add a spoonful of protein powder and seeds and fruit on top.

This.

And lentils are your friend for the rest of the day.

For breakfast I like just plain full fat Greek yoghurt with vanilla/cinnamon

For snacks cottage cheese/chunks of cheese, small amount of nuts, protein shake, Aldi do protein puddings/mousse/yoghurts but not sure how low carb they are, tuna mayo on little gem "wraps"

What is protein powder?

I see! I wonder if there's an unsweetened one. I loathe artificial sweeteners.

Healthy fats keep you fuller too. Avocado, nuts, seeds and yoghurts are good.

I'm not sure that protein powder is the way to go unless you're an athlete or serious fitness enthusiast.

Personally I'd stick with all the other protein rich foods suggested in this thread.

And don't get too hung up about carbs - just cut out refined carbs and ultra-processed foods. And booze - never drink calories 😁
