Hello everyone, Happy New Year, i hope you are well.

I recently have started having low blood sugar episodes during the day, i have had lots of tests and i dont have Diabetes or anything to worry about. I have tried to eat more healthy.

I kindly wondered please what supplements might be helpful for balancing my blood sugar? My GP advised B Vitamins and Zinc but how would i go about devising a supplement plan please? Should i trial one vitamin for a week to see how i can go, or otherwise i wont know whats doing what if my symptoms get worse?

Thank you for any input you can give. Enjoy the rest of your week. Take care.

When you say you have low blood sugar episodes, when are you having these during the day?

What are you eating

  • for breakfast
  • for lunch
  • for dinner

(and any snacks)

... during a typical day?

I can't see how supplements can help you - it's much more likely that your diet is at the root of this.

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

I tend to eat regular meals, however i am struggling for snacks on the go. I sometimes have cheese which is good.

Other times i have those Pulsin Bars, which have 12g carbs and about 5g of protein and fibre. Do you kindly think these are okay or do you have any other snack ideas please?

My meals tend to include protein and are eaten regular. Thanks again for your support.

What are your regular meals, though? Do they tend to be carb-heavy?

And why the need for snacks? Constant eating throughout the day si more likely to upset your blood sugar levels.

Are you low carb or keto? If you are Keto your body will adjust to fat burning mode and your liver steps in and makes what you need. This takes a little while to adjust to.

If you are low carb you'll not quite be in the keto range so look to slow release carbs. A sensible guide is 15-20 carbs a meal. Higher carb nuts are ideal such as cashew nuts If your blood sugar drops. Pre measure them so you know how many carbs you are consuming.

As a rough guide it normally takes the body up to 12 weeks to adapt to keto or low carb. It might be it's early days.

I aim to leave 18 hours between my 6 hours eating each day. I'm low carb, not keto. It's a mini fast each day to improve blood sugar. Mine can be high,

I agree with others that it's probably what you are eating rather than needing supplements,
