What happens at Christmas?

Just that really. I've lost 2 stone thanks to @BIWI and the others on the boot camp threads and couldn't be more delighted. I have no desire to snack and have lost my sweet tooth which is nothing less than miraculous!

I'm wondering what people do at Christmas, it's not going to be the usual round of visits and visitors so I guess there won't be the same temptation but.....do people take a break sometimes?

I'm thinking mince pies and chocolate, don't shoot me! Grin

I think lots of people take a break - but you need to decide for yourself how long you're prepared to do that for, and also what weight gain you're happy to accept.

If, like some people, Christmas for you starts on 1 December, then that would (IMVHO) be a complete disaster!

But if you allow yourself Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day off, then that's probably more manageable.

None of us can tell you what the impact of that will be, so maybe you just need to experiment - but beware it doesn't trigger massive carb cravings so that you can't get back on the wagon after Christmas!

Oh, and well done on the 2 stones Flowers

This is what I’m planning. Mince pies on Christmas Eve, a normal Christmas with - oh god I can’t wait - trifle, and I hadn’t thought about Boxing Day tbh!

Thanks @BIWI, that makes sense, I'll make sure not to jump of the wagon too soon.

I'm taking 7 days off over Christmas..... I'm assuming I'll put on 10lb and then work to get it back off as soon as my 7 days is over, it'll be mostly water weight.

Even now I do one day per month of eating whatever I want and having a takeaway.... It keeps me sane.

I've never lost my sweet tooth, carbs don't make me feel bloated or bad, they justincrease my fat... So one day off per month is manageable!

I'm having from Christmas Eve until 2nd January off, but I don't expect I'll go as overboard as I have done in previous years, when half a box of Lindor for breakfast was quite common!

I have lost 3.5 stone this year low carbing/intermittent fasting. I went on holiday for a week in the summer all inclusive with lots of carbs but stayed exactly the same weight by doing 16,000+ steps a day and swimming loads. I have reduced from a BMI of 39 to 33 so I still have plenty of weight to lose.

I had been just maintaining for a couple of months but really started in earnest mid-November to prepare for Christmas. Fasting, low carb, really really working hard. Loss has slowed. Last week I pushed so hard and lost one pound.

Christmas week started yesterday for me with a family birthday. I had berries and Greek yoghurt for breakfast, vegetables and hummus for lunch (I know hummus is not low carb), some crisps, cake and dark chocolate in the afternoon and salmon with cavolo Nero and green beans for dinner. Only water and coffee to drink. I’m up two pounds this morning. So now I’m seriously wondering just how much damage I will wreak on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. After such a shitty year and working so very hard to lose this weight, I both want to have a couple of days of not stressing about what I’m eating but I also don’t want to go up dramatically and have to crawl my way past those same numbers I’ve just agonisingly crept down in this past month. But if I can put on two pounds in one day which wasn’t as indulgent as Christmas then what will I gain when I add roast potatoes, Christmas cake and cocktails into the mix...?
