Hi!
I am desperate to start LCHF from Monday/Tuesday...

I have read lots of information online however I get really overwhelmed by lots of different information!
I'm vegetarian but do not eat eggs which I know.is a pain, but I'm hoping to still be able to do this!

I am desperate to lose the four stone I have gained during a terrible bout of pnd following the birth of my last DC. 😭

This is what I have planned so far can anyone tell me if this is ok or not?

Breakfast:
Protein shake (bulk powders brand) with coconut milk

Snack:
Small amount of nuts almonds/walnuts etc

Lunch:
LCHF recipe soup with extra vegetables

Snack:
1 cup full fat Greek yoghurt/or/1 tbs peanut butter

Dinners:
V sausages with grilled halloumi & vegetables
Courgette noodles/Quorn Bolognese/cheese
Vegetarian 'steak' creamy mushrooms & aspargus

4 litres water per day
An hour of exercise per day including resistance band training/bike ride/dog walking etc

Does this sound right?
Do I need to work out all the grams or protein and carbs and fats etc ?

That's the bit I find hard to do also.

Thankyou any help would be so appreciated I really want to look after myself now and get better and stronger mentally and physically.

I don't think you need to drink 4 litres of water that's not necessary. Personally I would have the snacks as part of your meals. Try just not snacking it makes a difference.

Exercise has very little to do with weight loss but has lots of health benefits so do what you enjoy.

I'm not a fan of shakes, I'd prefer proper food. Don't restrict yourself to traditional breakfast items. What about large mushrooms topped with other chopped low carb veg and then cheese.

Lunch and dinners sound good.

No need to worry about grams of protein etc. First try the diet, if you start losing weight great, if you don't or stall that's when you look at the grams of whatever. Although it's a high fat diet that just means you get your calories from fat. It doesn't mean add fat to everything. If you're overweight you already have fat to burn. By doing keto your insulin levels will drop and that allows your cells to burn fat. But if you supply your body with lots of fat in your diet then there is no need for your body to burn your stored fat. So don't be too generous yet with added fat. I mean obviously eat it but no popping to the fridge for another handful of cheese or eating spoonfuls of cream like what I did!

I really enjoy this way of eating but found the first week tough and definitely had carb flu. Good luck!

Good luck

Thankyou for replying!

I like shakes in general so probably why I added one in for breakfast as an easy way to get protein in the morning.

Should I just not have the nuts and yoghurt etc at all and stick to breakfast lunch dinner?

I've started the exercise this week on day 4 and feel much better already just mentally.

I really destroyed myself the last year with pnd I just ate carbs and whatever I could and drank no water at all just coffee unfortunately.

Your right about the water I will try to drink 2 litres every day instead.

I'm just doing my shopping list now for Tuesday morning when I can get to supermarket, I am going to take your advice and not count anything for the first couple of weeks and just see how it goes for me.

It sounds like you haven't been overweight that long so your body will probably be happy to lose the weight quite easily.

If you can ditch snacks it's good because every snack will spike your insulin and you want that low. You could just eat them as part of your meal if it needs a bit more or as a little treat. It's up to you.
