Vegetarian / pescatarian low(ish) carb?

I’m planning to start this on Monday. Nothing drastic; I’ll still eat a piece or two of fruit a day and maybe include some pulses.

Would anyone like to join me?

I could stand to lose a bit of weight, but again, nothing major. It’s more about feeling less bloated and generally flabby and crap.

Would love some company along the way Smile.

Oh that sounds good gigi.

Well done on the run! I might start running soon, now the weather’s a little nicer. At the moment I just do indoor classes.

I haven’t tried the meatball substitutes, but I am partial to a ‘hot and spicy’ quorn burger. Sadly not even slightly low carb though.

I think tofu is low carb, so I might add that to a curry / stir fry this evening instead of prawns. Dh will probably prefer that anyway.

I’ve been doing this for 9 weeks. Not sure how much I’ve lost exactly. About a stone and a half. Got lots to lose.
Yesterday I had soya yoghurt with blueberries, Soup and cheese, salmon kale sweet potato.
Today I’ve had scrambled egg and beans, leftover quorn roast salad olives, nuts.
Dinner will be quorn sausages and veg.

So, today ended up being:

B: omelette with tomatoes, mushrooms & cheese
L: tuna & avocado salad
D: stew thing, made of green lentils, leeks, peas & creme fraiche, (I wasn’t planning on eating this, but I made it for dcs and dh. Dcs ate two bites between them, so I ended up finishing theirs while they ate mini cheddars and peanut butter on toast 🤦‍♀️)
Snacks: 1 x apple, approximately 3000 x Brew with whole milk Grin

Also planning to have some Wine and olives after dc1 goes to bed.

I haven’t got any exercise classes booked for this evening, so not much on the exercise front, although I did do a decent amount of walking this morning, while out on errands and at the park with dc2.

Morning all!

Hope everyone is well.

Plan for today:

B: scrambled eggs and an apple
L: portobello mushroom and either cauli cheese if I have time to make it, or stuffed with cheese
D: I have a class this evening, so I’m going to make butternut squash and thyme soup during dc2’s nap time and will have some with an oatcake after class.
Snacks: don’t know yet, but I’m sure tea will be involved!

Glad I’m not the only one drinking 3000 cups of tea.
Bad nights sleep resulted in a packet of Pom bears.
Today had pea onion and cheese omelette. 4 fish fingers for lunch. Realised nothing in so went shopping. Dinner will be a quorn veggie chilli.

D: fried mushrooms and tomatoes with halloumi
Snacks: 3 x oatcakes with butter, (which was more oatcakes than I intended to eat, but hey ho) and yes, the inevitable 3000 x BrewGrin!

I will make the butternut squash soup tomorrow.

I definitely find I’m cooking a lot more from scratch for myself and am eating a lot more veg than previously. So that’s good I think.

I’m just about to get ready for my class. Won’t eat any more today and no Wine either.

Hello again!

I keep posting my plan for the day in the mornings and then posting again when that plan inevitably changes! But hey ho. I should probably just post once in the evening, but somehow it helps if I have a vague plan written down on here.

I hope everyone is having a good
morning. My littlest one seems to be teething / has a horrible cold, so I’m having a bit of a tricky morning. He’s gone back to bed after a very early start. I’m tired and think I’m catching his cold (boo).

Anywho, so far I have only managed to get in a tea and a coffee with milk, but the plan is:

B: Greek yoghurt mixed with cream and vanilla with strawberries and some seeds on top
L: either halloumi salad or the soup that never was from yesterday, or maybe both!
D: leftover cauli cheese from yesterday and a salmon fillet
Snacks: ALL.THE.TEA. 😂

I had a great class yesterday. I can’t decide whether to do another one tonight, but maybe not.

Keep posting as you've inspired some of my meals! Had mushrooms with halloumi yesterday and today totally inspired by you @FuckertyBoo

I have to say that I've read that a lot of people don't feel hungry on low carb. I feel hungry most of the time.... Confused Maybe because I'm not extreme low carb? Still eating fruit etc. How do you all feel? The hunger is near constant but very manageable so not like the hangry I'm used to when I eat lots of carbs.

I haven’t felt all that hungry tbh... I have also been eating fruit, but not loads and oats etc. I think I’m making up for it with cheese Blush.

B: Eggs and cheese
L: baked sweet potato with leftover veggie chilli
D: baked salmon with watercress and spinach salad.
Snacks: almonds, grapes, Tesco pumpkin seed and almond bar. Babybels.
I rarely feel hungry when I eat this way. I don’t get that knawing hunger you get on high carb diet. I still have moments when I crave treats. I would love to eat a bag of m&m peanuts right now! But I won’t.

So the great thing about low carb is that it's really making me think outside the box and make different things. Just eating chickpea and halloumi burgers on salad

Feeling the same as you gigi. Only list 1 lb in last 3 weeks. Feel like giving up. But I know if I do I’ll put on all I’ve lost and more. It sucks!

It's funny because some days I'm like this is so easy and I don't get cravings etc. and others, like yesterday and today and I'm really struggling! I'm really hungry and I'm not sure what to eat!
