Minimum calorie intake - not very hungry

I've been low carbing "ish" for 6 weeks, though not giving up everything - I'm allowing myself one or two small portions of oats, rice or quinoa a day. I've lost just over a stone, which I'm quite happy with, in spite of having taken a week off when away over half term. I started off aiming for a minimum of 1500 calories a day (I'm quite active) but was finding that hard to get to so have steadily dropped that to 1000. Some days I do eat up to 1200 but I'm increasingly finding that I'm just not hungry and I'm struggling to get to 1000 and am stuffing avocado or cheese in before I go to bed. I haven't eaten anything today yet. I used to be a real pig so this is a bit of a shock. I can't find any info online as to a minimum I should be aiming for. Is it ok to stick at this level for a bit?

I eat when I'm hungry on low carb, and this is usually 900 - 1200kcal. The keto accounts I follow on instagram regularly post 1000kcal days, so it's not uncommon.

While you are in ketosis, your body is using your body fat as fuel so you don't need to eat a certain number of calories. My body has a bloody fat buffet around my stomach and thighs - plenty to keep it going! Blush

I experience this with low carb and it got to the point where I was struggling to get in 600 calories a day. It affected my daily life so I had to give up low carbing. I used to get electrolyte imbalance which made my arms in particular very weak and numb. I am not a big salt user and found it hard to add to my diet so I tried cooking all veg in salted butter but I wasn't keen and prefer it steamed.

My body copes with 12 weeks max. It works and it's great for weight loss but I personally can't sustain it as a long term diet. If I need to lose weight, I do 6 weekly stints.
