Why haven't I lost anything?!

Hi. I started low carbing just over a week ago. This meant no potatoes, pasta, bread, no sugar or junk - the usual. I have been living off eggs, chicken and vegetables.

I am breastfeeding an 11 month old.

I have literally lost not a single pound despite cutting back on what had become a daily occurrence of crisps and chocolate and eliminating white food.

What have I done wrong!? Or am I just going to see a sudden drop in another week!? Please help!

Mfp is really fab as you know exactly what you're eating. It can be a bit fiddly to start with but persevere as you get used to it really quickly.

I also wasn't losing much/any weight when I first started low carbing. I was eating around 1750 calories and it was all the right stuff such as full fat Greek yogurt, berries, salads, chicken, eggs and fish. I then dropped my calories to 1500 per day and stuck to it religiously by tracking every single thing I eat on my fitness pal. I don't allow myself to ever go over the 1500 calories even if I'm going out for dinner. I've now been losing 1.5 pounds per week without fail just by dropping my calories by 250 each day. As you're shorter than me (i'm 5ft 7 with a higher BMI than you) you might find you need to drop yours down to something like 1300 calories to see a consistent weight loss each week. Get your carbs from things like banana and a small amount of sweet potato instead of the wraps. Also sounds like you need to up your fats such as full fat Greek yogurt and a bit of full fat cheese

Banana and sweet potato?! No, don't get your carbs from those - they are way too high. But yes, get your carbs from veg and salad (albeit lower carb ones)

Lol yes keep off the banana & sweet potato they're much higher carbs.

Whenever I've low carbed it's always taken about 10 days for the weight to start coming off and then it seems to amp right up and drop off very quickly.

And here's the ongoing chat thread from the end of the last one - which you're welcome to join!

I'll shortly also be starting a planning thread for next week's Bootcamp, which will be in the Bootcamp topic.

I didn't lose anything the first 2 weeks. However I'm 14 months in now and 7 stone lighter. It works for everyone - it's just sometimes people think they're doing it right and they're not. Usually it's a fear of eating too much fat. Sometimes I eat 150g of fat a day and most days I'm eating 2000 calories. I LOVE this diet!
