Can I continue low carving whilst pregnant?

Just that really. Lots of conflicting advice online.

Have just found out I'm pregnant with dc2.

Last pregnancy I got up to almost 18 stone (i'm only 5ft5!) Then had DS and quite quickly dropped back to 15.

Started low carbing at the start of April and have got to 13.12.

I have been sort of following the blood sugar diet but have not been counting calories.
Am only eating carbs in fruit and veg etc, haven't been eating bread, rice, pasta, potatoes etc

I really don't want to put on weight, or as much weight, I really don't want to be that unhealthy this time. I'm eating such better foods doing this, lots of good fats, veg etc instead of empty white carbs and cakes like before.

I've bought some brown pasta rice and bread today so i have it in the cupboard. I have had a small home baked roll and a sweet potato (which i wouldn't usually have on this eating plan )incase it's really bad to not eat those kind of carbs. But i really want to continue the eating plan. I wont see a midwife for another 5 weeks or so (from memory of last time) obviously will ask when I see one. My thinking is i'll be healthier so should have a healthier pregnancy? But obviously the baby is priority so will eat some of these kinds of carbs every day if needs be.

So.. Can I continue low carbing? Any ideas?

Well, speaking to your midwife is probably best as she'll have your medical history and be monitoring you. A balanced diet is probably best so you should definitely include carbs but there's no need to go to town on them, just make sure you have some daily.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes will definitely discuss with her how to not put on loads of weight. In the mean time will have small amounts of 'good' carbs.
