Been doing it for three weeks. Lost half a stone. Gone off tea and alcohol - they just don't taste nice (wine and g&t). Is this normal? (Obv alcohol isn't low carb but have had two nights out where I decided to have some and just didn't taste nice).

It's because your body is getting used to less sugar.

Different things will taste sweet i.e. broccoli and almonds.

Did for me - can't drink Diet Coke at all now, or low fat yogurt like Miller light.

Still like gin:)

Funnily I do like Diet Coke now when I couldn't stand it before. I think it's because my tastebuds are so overwhelmed by the sweetness that I can't detect the aftertaste any more. It's not great for you because of the artificial sweeteners but I have it instead of an alcoholic drink sometimes as the lesser of two evils.

Well done OP......Happy for you....Yes that's quite normal. I find almost all fruit incredibly sweet nowadays and strangely chocolate tastes really gloopy and horrid to me. Even the expensive, dark varieties that I always had big a fistful of every night. I Atkinsed about 5 years ago and lost a ton of blubber. ...

I made chilli con carne the other night and it tasted sweet - I thought I had added sugar not salt, but I hadn't.
