You can make your own savoury nuts very easily. Also works for sunflower seeds (without hulls):

-Heat a little oil (1 tablespoon max, you may need less) in a small (20 cm approx) very heavy non-stick frying pan. I use a cast-iron one.
-Add nuts or seeds to cover base of the pan - almonds or hazlenuts (both in their skins) are best. Have not tried brazils or walnuts and doubt whether they would work.
-Stir gently over moderate heat until nuts are are just beginning to lose their papery outer skins and turn pale golden brown (seeds should go pale gold, also). This takes maybe 5 minutes; less for seeds. Sorry to be so vague, but precise timing depends on the thickness of the pan, heat of the gas/electric rings etc.
-Watch them like a hawk and keep the heat moderate. They burn very easily.
-Remove pan from heat and allow to cool for a couple of minutes. While still hot, drizzle lightly with tamari (or any kind of soy sauce) and stir. Don't add too much sauce - you want the nuts just lightly glazed, not swimming. If the soy sauce hisses and spits violently as it hits the pan, then the pan is too hot. Wait another minute or so before adding.

One of the great advantages of low carbing is the effect it has on your appetite - you just won't be hungry between meals!

Just beware of planning snacks into your diet because they are something you are used to doing. Only do it if you're really hungry, rather than because it's a habit you've got into.

During the day I'm rarely hungry, but sometimes at the end of the day, before dinner, I may be - but a piece of cheese is usually enough to keep me going until dinner is ready.
