Favourite thing about low carbing

Two things for me. Firstly I love how it keeps you so full. Especially if you're eating a lot of fat too. As a former binge/purged this is a real benefit for me.

Secondly, how the food I eat makes me feel like I'm on holiday! Today's lunch was a real mix. I had some olives, feta, a few different meats (chorizo, slamamis etc) avocado, salsa, these yummy smoked salmon appetiser things I found in tesco. All the sorts of foods id nibble on before a meal if I were on holiday in Greece or Italy or something! Yum yum

Well I'll be brutally honest, it's the absence of joint pain, gurgling and wind that does it for me Blush

MaeMobley · 16/04/2014 21:07

For me, no pain in my calves. I can walk like a normal person. Amazing.

I do like the full feeling too.

Mumelie · 17/04/2014 08:26

The main thing for me is no stomach pain - ibs symptoms bad if I lapse and eat wheat or sugar. My joints no longer ache. My sugar cravings have nearly gone - so no binging anymore. It's easy to eat out and with the family.
Ok the weight loss is very very slow for me (think wine over the Easter hols might not be helping).

The weight loss Wink

The lack of farty wind. And a flat stomach.

And, for some reason, I never get tonsil stones anymore.

NothingMoreScaryThanAHairyMary · 17/04/2014 10:34

Wind and horrible white coating on my tongue.

Have fallen off the low carb wagon for a couple of moths and restarted yesterday and I had forgotten how much better it is for me.

JemimaJones · 17/04/2014 16:53

I have restarted today on low carb. I don't do bootcamp though as I couldn't stick to it but do my own version. I have Linwoods cereals for breakfast which are very low carb . Some of your comments have reminded me why I used to love this woe. The lack of "farting" is definitely one (especially in bed when you have to hold it until you hear your DH snoring ha ha Blush) maybe that's just me.

JemimaJones · 17/04/2014 16:54

Are most of you doing bootcamp or other forms of low carb?

Fourarmsv2 · 17/04/2014 17:43

No wind - last farted several weeks ago!

Never hungry - can't eat for 12 hours because you're unexpectedly with a nil-by-mouth labouring sister - no problem :)

Cellulite gone :)

Weight loss - over 4 stone since Sept 13.

Fourarmsv2 · 17/04/2014 17:43

JemimaJones - I'm doing the Harcombe diet :)

BeeKayP · 17/04/2014 23:01

JemimaJones where do you get the cereals? I've seen linswood products but never cereals!

Flat stomach.

No tummy rumbles.

Eating cheese with a clear conscience.

CharethCutestory · 18/04/2014 14:53

It cured my colitis! That was pretty life-changing.

Less dramatically, it clears up a small patch of eczema by my nose, and I get fewer colds. Also that peaceful feeling you get in the tummy, and knowing you're eating the right things Smile

Ruprekt · 21/04/2014 22:39

Day 1 again for me.

Love the food.
Love my skin looking clear.
No bloating.
No wind.

Just wish I didnt like sugar so much! WinkWink

pregnantpause · 29/04/2014 18:20

I feel cheap saying it after so many more worthy reasons- butter and cream. Hollandaise. Mayonnaise. Lamb- all too fatty for any other woe unless you're happy to pile on the pounds. I love fat. Wink

This is inspirational! Where do I start???
