How low should I go?

I am looking at low carb to lose that last 5-10lb. I have calorie counted to lose 4.5 stone since jan 2011 but have only lost 6lb in the last 12 months. In my defence I've not been 'counting' in 2013 just continuing to eat in the manner I'm accustomed too. That and the fact I'm now at a healthy weight.
I have found through cc that lowering carbs helps weight loss but have never tracked carbs, just reduced/replaced pasta, rice, bread, potatoes where convenient.

I am now thinking that reducing my carbs consistently could be the key to this last 5-10lbs but I'm a little confused. Do I need to do an 'induction phase' and get into ketosis first, or should I be looking to keep my carb level at a certain level, 100g for example from the get go?
Have read til my phone battery diesSmile and can't make sense of it, as all low carb talks of an 'induction phase' then adding carbs back, but also say if you only have a little weight to lose then a later phase is for you.

Please you wise people help me out.

Also to give some background I have a DS (14) rugby player, a dp with a usually physical job and dp's DS 3 days a week (7) who eats a lot of ready meals at home. Therefore I can not eliminate my exposure to carbs as my 3 'boys' would not be receptive to a strict low carb diet, especially when pasta bake is a fail safe meal Sad

Come and join us on the low carb Bootcamp - we're starting on 13/1.

You can, absolutely, eliminate your exposure to carb-based meals, if you're the one that is cooking them! And no reason why your boys/partner shouldn't be able to play the sports that they do with fewer carbs.

I live with three very hunky men including two teenage boys who work out and they eat loads of meat based meals - bacon and eggs, steaks. It is the way to go for athletes these days. I also have a child who pays a sport for England and she eats what she calls "caveman" (very low carb too and nothing processed).
