At the star of the week i read dr briffa's "escape the diet trap", and the potential benefits of a low carb lifestyle really appealed to me.

However i am/was a carb demon! Have been following briffas advice and the advice on the low carb bootcamp for 2 days now; but finding it a bit tough to resist my sweet tooth

So any success stories you're willing to share would be wonderful motivation. As is the tape measure which says ive lost 3cm from the waist measurement briffa suggests using (although im sure that cant be right after only 2 and a bit days???????)

I'm only 2 weeks in but I like this forum
www.marksdailyapple.com/forum/forum4.html Particularly the top thread; before and after pics.

Good luck, I'm loving this woe and already seeing results.

Low carb has been the way to go for me. Lost over 1.5 stone in 2 months to get down to 8 stone last year and have successfully kept it all off despite introducing a small amount of carbs back into my diet. I would struggle to eat a pasta dish now or to order rice with a takeaway meal etc. I just don't want huge amounts of carbs these days. Have learned to make fab salads and best of all I haven't had to give up cheese!!

Good luck and use the support threads on here if the going gets tough - definitely recommend Smile

Thanks for all the input. I definately think its the way to go for me.

I need to look at the recipe links on various threads as im not a very creative cook and will get bored of the food if i dont.

It gets easier once those carb cravings have gone. Ive lost a stone and a half without even trying. Originally I gave up all wheat and grain based carbs as I was diagnosed with coeliacs but then anything with sugar in made me feel sick. I kept rice for weekends and the weight continued to fall off and now even rice makes me feel lethargic and even a bit low-mood so I dont bother and just dont want any of it.
I do eat pulses as I dont eat meat. Fish is 3 times a week because of the cost and day to day its mainly fruit, veg, cheese, eggs and fats.
If you'd told me this time last year I'd have laughed in your face but Ive gone from 12 stone to 10 and a half (I'm 5 foot 11), my depression has gone, I have more energy and I'm still shocked that I can make a massive 3 egg and mashed banana omlette in butter for breakfast, fry fish in butter plus salad for lunch then a huge thai veggie curry in coconut milk for tea and still lose weight.
And its still coming off!
