Morning everyone!

I hope that the first week went well - and I see we have a few new recruits which is great!

Here's the spreadsheet:

I see some good losses already, which is fantastic.

Have a good week everyone Flowers

I don’t seem to have lost anything on the scales this week, but fingers crossed for Monday. However I’ve noticed my facial skin looks better, my stomach is less bloated and I feel almost like I see a hint of waist appearing again. I might be imagining it, as it’s only been a couple of weeks, but hopefully it’s real! I also do not have the slightest craving for sugar, my kids have some biscuits in the cupboard which usually I would eat in a heartbeat but I’m just ‘meh’ about them. So that is a huge win for me. I will add in some nuts and berries this week because I am missing my fruit.

I'm having a very quiet, slow weekend so no temptations lurking. Enjoy the weekend plans everyone!

WinterfellsStarbucksConcession · 17/10/2026 16:52

I’m doing pretty well but did have a glass of white wine with a celebratory low carb (but high calorie!) dinner last night.
I’ll be moving on to Bootcamp Lite next week for sure as I’m sick of plain FFGY for breakfast (can’t face eggs etc first thing) and I’m looking forward to being able to add berries and a few nuts to it.

One thing to bear in mind is that weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for being weeks where weight loss can slow or stop. So if you are moving onto Bootcamp Light, and introducing fruit/nuts/seeds/alcohol - be very mindful about how much you're adding.

I've been doing bootcamp light - I know I won't stick to proper bootcamp, at least not initially. The sugar addiction for me means that I'm better doing it a bit back to front - start off doing bc light and then wean myself off the berries and nuts. I'm losing but not as rapidly as those who are doing it the right way round. That's okay though - I'm resigned to this being a very long term thing for me.
In good news though, I'm a lot less hungry, am eating a fraction of the sugar that I was and my meals are a lot healthier. I made a lovely fish curry last night with coconut cream and double cream and cauliflower rice and I resisted the chips at work and it wasn't even hard!

Thanks Biwi, maybe I’ll hold off on adding nuts and berries then. Any thoughts on why week 2 has been so slow for me? I remembered other times I’ve done LC or keto the second week was still a big loss for me. I am in peri and older now so maybe it’s just that working against me!

BIWI · 17/10/2026 18:56

It could be, sadly! But are you sure you've been following the rules? Drinking all the water, keeping your carbs as low as you can (but still eating veg/salad), and eating all the fat?

It's very easy, when you've been doing low carb for a while, to actually forget some of the first principles! (Ask me how I know ...)

Yes I really have! I’ll keep a close eye on my macros this week. Actually I realised I had a cold most of last weekend and not been as active as usual, it could just be that. Maybe the scales will catch up at some point. I feel better and mentally a lot sharper too not under a sugar haze so that’s the main thing anyway.

Lovelysnuggyjumper · 17/10/2026 20:59

I'm feeling a lot better and happy with my results so I think I will stick to OG Bootcamp, except I'll add some berries if I fancy something sweet. I don't trust myself to eat a sensible amount of nuts!

SprinklesofRain · 17/10/2026 21:19

I make overnight “oats” (no oats), FFGY in jam jars with seeds, nuts and a few berries, then I only eat those limited quantities.

BIWI · 17/10/2026 21:52

I came across a recipe I'd cut out and saved from Good Food magazine, and made this tonight. I substituted ground almonds for the flour, and it was really tasty. DH/DS2 had theirs with rice, I just had it on its own.

It's fair to say that if you don't like olives you won't like it, but it was really tasty.

please can you share the almond flour bread recipe?

@SaySomethingMan@BIWI
Here is the receipe. I think it is one of the nicest low carb bread recipes I have found yet.

The week has been going well. I have been keeping to plan and watching everything I put on my mouth. Normally at this point I would be chomping at the bit to get to BC lite but i think I will try and do the hybrid this week and hold off on the berries and seeds and a little dark chocolate until later in the week. We are having a barbecue later with pork belly, chicken thighs and Italian sausage along with eggplant and peppers and I will have a quarter bottle of extra dry prosecco which I am looking forward too.

@WinterfellsStarbucksConcessioni have been making a pancake in the morning with one egg and two tablespoons of cream cheese with a splash of vanilla essence. I have been adding a spoon of psyllium husk but from tomorrow I will add milled flaxseeds or almond flour instead to give it some body. I bring it to work and can eat it cold or warm in the microwave. I can't face FFGY or normal eggs in the morning but this pancake works really well for me and fills me up.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I love olives! What was the recipe?

I'm losing a lot at the moment, down another 3 or so ibs. Scales low on battery so not super reliable.

I was definitely doing that thing of thinking I know BC rules but bending them left right and centre. Back on it now

... obviously ignore the instruction to mop up with bread! (Unless using @Goodiewhemper 's recipe above, which I'm going to try today)

Those both look delicious!

Jumperorcardi · 18/10/2026 10:31

Week 1 (for me) is going well and I have at the moment lost 5lbs which is a bootcamp record for me. I have really worked hard at making sure I am drinking water and I have switched the afternoon hot drinks to mainly hot water.
Sunday is always a more food focussed day, but have planned it out;
B - FFGY & coffee
L- Tuna & homemade coleslaw
D- Roast Chicken with lots of veg with butter

Hope everyone has a good day

BIWI · 18/10/2026 10:32

I forgot to mention I use olive oil instead of coconut oil - I think it makes for a nicer and healthier bread.

Extra virgin or just ordinary?

I use EV as it is all I have but I would imagine ordinary would work well too.

Thanks @Goodiewhemper I’ve ordered some blanched almond flour off amazon and will give it a try when it arrives.

I used to make bread with coconut butter and eggs years ago, but can’t find the recipe anywhere
