2021 Low Carb Bootcamp - easing ourselves back in!

The next Bootcamp will start w/c 11 January.

However ...

We're going to do things slightly differently this time. The plan is to start with a 'soft' week, so we can ease ourselves into low carbing.

There will be no initial weigh-in

Instead, we'll use the first week to make sure we've planned and prepped for the hardcore fortnight, which will start on 18 January. If you still have goodies left over from Christmas, this is the week to either ensure that they're finished, or they're chucked out.

You can go as low carb as you want during this week - it's entirely up to you - but I'd seriously suggest that you cut out any sweet stuff, and reign back on alcohol consumption. (Sorry!)

If you're new to low carbing - or even if you're familiar with it - this is the week to start reading around the subject. Make sure you know how it works and what it will entail. There are lots of resources on the spreadsheet here is the current one so have a read of those.

The Diet Doctor website is also very, very good - easy to read, lots of information and some great recipes, so I'd definitely recommend that you have a browse of that.

In terms of planning ahead, meal plans particularly will be important, and you can use this week to think about what you might cook when we go into the first strict week.

Have a look at the recipe threads which are stickied at the top of the Bootcamp topic.

There's a thread here with some of the FAQs about low carbing that should also be useful.

So the timeline:

w/c 11 January, 'soft' start
w/c 18 & 25 January - two hardcore Bootcamp weeks
w/c 1 February until w/c 22 March - eight weeks of Bootcamp Light
29 March, our final weigh-in, taking us nicely up to Easter.

If you're in, sign up here - add your name to the list and then c+p it into a new post:

Hi. Very last minute but can I join please? I am on my phone but will get my laptop out later to access the spreadsheet. Totally new to this so will do some catching up research tonight.

Started the new year at my heaviest ever.
