Introducing carbs into a low carb diet

And I mean 'diet' as in way of eating rather than a diet, IYSWIM!

So I've been low carving for around 18 months now and have lost all the weight I want to (OH would say too much but that's another thread...)

So I'm thinking of introducing some carbs into my diet really just to try and vary mealtimes a bit more, particularly breakfast. I'm happy to keep away from bread, pasta, rice, etc. but am thinking of maybe having a small bowl of porridge for breakfast and the odd jacket potato, etc.

Is this what is normally done with this WOE or do people stick steadfastly to low/no carbs forever? As I said, I don't want to lose any more weight but don't want to revert to a carby diet and undo all my good work!

Any feedback greatly appreciated 👍

I don't know the specific answer as I'm still a stone away from my target, but there is a bootcamp maintenance thread where people are working on this.

I got to my target and now I have carb creep half a stone to lose just be careful on what you eat

Wouldn't the bowl of porridge in the morning make you really hungry for the rest of the day? Why not eat a few more nuts or something you really like occasionally? Fwiw I don't think you could be that successful having something very high carb everyday, maybe one day a week you have what you want. Porridge or jacket potato would not be on my list!

Thanks for the replies.

I've never been 'bootcamp' strict and have had nuts as a daily snack most days. I've even had the odd biscuit bit have been quite good with everything else.

I think I might introduce the porridge (for example) and see how I go. I suppose with any WOE you can just revert to how you were if you don't get the results you want!
