Heart palpitations

I've been low carving for what will be six weeks on Monday.i have lost 20lbs by last weeks weigh in. I have several stones still to loose.

I have been having heart palpitations for about a month. I have had these in the past when I low carbed but they went after about a week.

This time they seem to have something to do with blood sugar because after I eat I particularly feel them.

Has anyone experienced this?

It sounds to me like you need to consider your electrolyte balance - how much sodium (salt) are you eating? Equally, you need magnesium and potassium.

So - salt in your cooking and on your food, and salmon, spinach, avocado and full fat natural yoghurt for magnesium and potassium.

If this doesn't do the trick, try increasing your carbs a little.

And if that doesn't work, then please go and see your GP!

Yes, I had terrible palpitations the first two weeks of bootcamp. I followed BIWI's advice and they did improve a fair bit but I still have them after meals. I've had a normal ECG, and ended up with the diagnosis of post-prandial tachycardia i.e. Fast heartbeat after eating, which was just the posh way of describing exactly what I presented with.

I have salted nuts every day. Should I still salt food?

Not wanting to be rude but saying you have salted nuts is like
saying I have a piece of string. please don't take it the wrong way.

You need to list what you have as intake for food and fluid,
then how demanding your activity is
and if it is a hot humid environment.

The BIWI might be able to help, but if you goto your GP they will want to know the same thing.

It's 32c here feels like 35c and if I riding 200kms on my cycle, I'd need more salt/water than when sitting in the air conditioned for 8 hours.

Yes, data, you should be eating more salt! (Unless you're eating a fuckton of nuts ...)
