Yorkshirebornandbred · 13/05/2017 05:44

Hope no one minds .. I'd like to post every day what I eat to help me stay motivated until bootcamp starts.

I feel like I've eaten an awful lot today Blush

Breakfast was 3 rashers fried bacon and 2 fried eggs
Lunch was lettuce with mayonnaise, hand a can of tuna with mayo and half a small avocado.
Dinner was mince from cottage pie but without potato, with courgetti fried and spinach and peas with butter.
Snacks of half a tub of olives, a mini babybel and some pate.
Drinks: lots of decaf black coffee, water and lemon and ginger tea.

I walked for an hour at quite a brisk pace.

I haven't got a spiraliser, just buy it ready made from tesco.

Full fat Total the best Greek yoghurt. Heck sausages are quite nice, find the DC like them too. We had the chicken ones last time. I like Kerrygold bitter as well, eat slices of this with cheese and salad most days at lunch time.

LovelyBath77 · 16/05/2017 09:11

butter, not bitter!

Yorkshirebornandbred · 16/05/2017 14:50

Good morning Smile

Oops .. posted too soon!

I had 3 rashers of bacon and 2 fried eggs with fried courgettini and coffee with cream for breakfast.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 17/05/2017 00:03

For dinner I had 97% meat sausages with fried mushrooms, fried courgettini, braised leeks (in butter) and cucumber.

Snacks were celery with pate and full fat soft cheese. Three coffees with cream.

Right I've eased myself in over the past five days, I'm going to be a bit stricter with myself now ... no more yoghurt and cream for a few days. I'm not really hungry but often still eating out of boredom so need to stop that. I need to drink more water too ..i really struggle with that.

For breakfast i had two rashers of bacon and an egg and black coffee.

I've tried to post three times on the mobile site with no joy Sad.

Yesterday I didn't manage to stay away from the cream but given that it was a rubbish day and I'd have been taking chocolate intravenously I didn't do too bad, just 3 coffees with cream.

Lunch was cold chicken pieces with mayonnaise, dinner cottage pie without the potato with leeks braised in butter, snacks were celery with pate.

Today I had bacon and eggs for lunch, then mince with spinach and broccoli for dinner, snacks were pate and 2 cold sausages. 2 coffees with cream.

Sounds good! How much water did you drink?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 19/05/2017 10:49

Started a warm-up yesterday.

Yesterday:
B = Co-Op Greek Yoghurt (about a tablespoon, just finishing off what was there), coffee
L = 3 homemade pastryless quiches, with bacon and cheese (and mustard, which was apparently a mistake as it's highish carb - whoops!), houmous (another mistake, but I'm not throwing it out), about 1/4 red pepper, 2 inches of cucumber, cup of coffee
S = 2 Babybel (one morning, one afternoon), cup of coffee
D = small serving of Total yoghurt (not what I planned, but when I got round to it I just wasn't hungry).

Today:
B =: fry-up of 2 rashers of bacon, 3 very small eggs (bantam), 3 chestnut mushrooms, cup of coffee
L= same as yesterday minus the cucumber, but addition of olives
S = 2 Babybel (one morning, one afternoon)
D = steak with buttered spinach and creamy sauce

Lots of water being drunk (as usual), not much sleep to be had (but don't feel tired which is unusual).

Yorkshirebornandbred · 19/05/2017 11:06

Not enough water BIWI .. I find it really difficult to drink a lot of water but will try harder.

I weighed myself this morning as it's been a week, I've lost 2 lbs. I'm a bit disappointed as it's the first week but I've eaten a lot of dairy which I think I need to cut out .. and not drunk enough water. At least it's a step in the right direction.

Yesterday I felt bloated and fat. Maybe at my age (52) I'm just not going to be able to lose weight Sad

Yorkshirebornandbred · 20/05/2017 12:11

Because of how I felt yesterday I have in to temptation and had two (!) Aldi mini dark chocolate bars, I think they're 85g each. No excuse, I was just fed up and in pain and having an awful day.

So I'll pick myself up and start again.

Could someone tell me what exactly I should be eating? I.e if I have 3 rashers bacon and 2 fried eggs for breakfast, a tin of tuna in mayo with cucumber for lunch and 3 x 97% meat sausages with 1 leek braised in butter and fried mushrooms for dinner, a babybel, 3 black decaff coffees and 1.5 litres of water, is that acceptable? I weigh 12 stone 9 and am 5 feet 7, age 52.

yorkshire Don't get despondent, I'm 55 and dieted all my life only to end up fatter than when I started.

Because I know the number on the scales affects how I am the whole day I made a commitment to not weigh for 100days and to stick to this woe. At the beginning I had snacks, 3 meals a day and a treat every day like sugar free jelly and double cream.

Half way through I realised I didn't need the treats. A bit further down the line and I started 16:8 IF. That seems to be best for me. When I was younger I never ate breakfast, I only started because it was 'healthier'.

100 days later I'm down 23lbs. Never hungry (if I am, I eat), never snack and have had lots of non scale victories. I know I've got a way to go but it's not a diet, I won't just stop doing it when I've reached a 'target'.

Not every way of eating suits everyone, this may ultimately not suit you. But give it a fair try. I gave the low fat high carb way 40years and when it didn't work over and over again it was apparently my fault for being 'weak'. See what happens.

bellalurgy · 20/05/2017 12:26

Have you tried boot camp? Loads of recipes and help. Lots of people post their food for the day, might give you a few ideas.

BIWI · 20/05/2017 15:08

Sorry you had a bad day - but they do happen to us all Smile The very best thing you can do is to pick yourself up and get back on the wagon, quickly.

3 rashers bacon and 2 fried eggs for breakfast

This is perfect low carb (and Bootcamp!) food - I hope that you fried the bacon as well as the eggs, rather than grilling it?

a tin of tuna in mayo with cucumber for lunch

That's OK, although you could have had a bit more salad/veg^

3 x 97% meat sausages with 1 leek braised in butter and fried mushrooms for dinner

Again, perfect! (Although again, you could have had a bit more veg - and do you know the carb count of those sausages?)

a babybel, 3 black decaff coffees and 1.5 litres of water, is that acceptable?

The cheese and coffee is fine - the water is a good start, but not enough. You should be drinking a minimum of 2 litres a day. Check out the Bootcamp spreadsheet (rule 6 - look at the tabs at the bottom) to see how much you should be drinking.

Oh, and your age really, really doesn't have anything to do with it. It's all about getting your diet right.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 20/05/2017 18:27

Thanks Smile I'll pick myself up and start again. I struggle with low carb veg because cabbage/ sprouts aggravate my IBS. Also trying to keep the cost down.

I've signed up for bootcamp so will follow the threads from Monday.

OP posts:
BIWI · 21/05/2017 08:20

If it's any comfort, I found - when I first started low carbing - that my IBS disappeared. I always know when I've been eating too many carbs usually around Christmas because it flares up again.

Looking forward to 'meeting' you on Bootcamp Smile

Yorkshirebornandbred · 21/05/2017 14:03

That's encouraging!
