Here's the SoF

Morning all.

So we enter the last four weeks. Still time to drop half a stone, if you can make it 2lbs per week.

A super strict week for me as I'm off to a Christmas piss up lunch on Friday and have to find something in my wardrobe to wear!

Off to Leeds today, so will start with a yummy egg pot from Leon at Kings Cross (poached egg, ham hock and truffled Gruyere sauce - with an extra poached egg for extra yumminess). Lunch will probably be something from M&S; I'm off to see my dad (who's still in hospital) after my meeting, so usually take him some tempting goodies from there, and I'll pick up some bits and pieces for me too.

Dinner tonight will be roast chicken with roast veg and salad.

Good luck to us all!

EEk! I will bear that in mind. Still haven't tried it.
Had Celeriac Gratin last night, Hugh F-W was doing it on some food channel last weekend. It was very good!

Hi everyone, just checking in. Been struggling a lot this week, terrible pmt feeling very ragey. Should be better now AF is here though.

Yesterday involved buttery eggs, creamy coffee lots of celery sticks with pork & chicken liver pate, smoked salmon, ff yogurt

--Then it all went horribly wrong in the evening with some white wine and a mini carb binge which I'm almost too ashamed to tell you about.
--
But today is a new day, so onwards and upwards (or hopefully downwards on the scales).

Witt woo, go BIWI

Just back from a session at the gym followed by a lovely swim, sauna, jacuzzi and peaceful shower. That certainly beats going anywhere near the shops on Black Friday!

Today has been:
B: eggs butter
L (just now): M&S crack cocaine bacon strips, cheese and onion sandwich filler
D: don't actually know. We've got school fair later so might be back late. Will see what time I have and what we fancy by then.

Thanks for the info BIWI!

I've been doing this diet since mid Sept when my son went back to uni (he is a student but just likes a toned body - he has protein shakes and weird stuff but that's going too far for me!).

I weighed myself today and have lost 7 pounds since then and since I'm only 5.1 and not very overweight I am well pleased - haven't been this weight ( 8.13) for over 3 1/2 years! Maybe a few more pounds but I look and feel fine atm!

Sorry I came onto the wrong thread - I am defo much lower carb though - I only eat the really high carb food ( muesli or pasta or rice or spuds) at one meal a day instead of 3, have drastically cut down on fruit - mainly big helping of stewed apple ( unsweetened) which fills me up, half a grapefruit in the morning and one other piece of fruit - I used to snack on fruit for a pastime. I eat nuts now instead - and still managing to lose weight.

I am always satiated now and have managed to regulate my blood sugar too - haven't had the low blood sugar shakes for ages.

I'll go and find another section to post on!

Go biwi!! switswoo!
I love celeriac dauphinois/ gratin - who needs potatoes?
Food today has been odd. Daughter went to nanas so I spent the day cleaning and sorting stuff for my charity appeal and Christmas.
Had a couple of creamy coffees and a bit of crispy pork belly as I worked. Just realised I was starving 10 minutes ago so I bunged a pizza in a pan in the oven. I'll pop a recipe over on the recipe thread. X

hello all, a not at all perfect day for me but could have been worse, DH and I went to a Christmas market and it was mulled wine and pies at every turn plus the sweet stuff on the stalls, we hit the cheese stalls though!

b - bacon & spinach omelette, cuppa, creamy coffee mid-morning
l - bradan roth, like a potted hot smoked salmon with horseradish butter, a bite of the toast then Pollock over samphire and kale with tartar sauce mayo, half a glass of prosseco, big bottle of sparkling water
then really wanted choc so popped into a hotel choc and got least worst option of dark choc with nuts, another cup of tea
d- lc crakerbread, butter, lovely port & brandy cheddar from the market, 2 OF DCs chips (not worth it, horrible)

Lulu - you're more than welcome to stay, but just need to realise that your diet isn't Bootcamp (or really low carb) - but I'm very glad it's working for you and that you're enjoying it. That's the most important thing.

I am settling in to this now (last day of week 1 and I shall weigh myself tomorrow) Today I am having:

B: ham rolled around cream cheese with a salad
L: Eggs scrambled in butter with spinach (my favourite)
D: Will be having a go at an 'oopsie roll' for a pizza base with tomatoes, peppers, feta and cheddar with mayo.

I have bought some psylium husks as I feel I need more fibre - is this OK, do you think?

I really struggled at day 4 and nearly ate loads of fruit but didn't. Today I went horse-riding as I do every Saturday and for the first time, I didn't break a sweat - usually I am so sweaty at the end, it's a bit of a joke at the yard. This is TMI but it was so strange for me. My diet is the only thing I have changed, so I am thinking it must be linked somehow...

B - parma ham, brie spread with butter, avocado, cuppa, creamy coffee
L - roasted plaice, brown shrimp, broccoli in butter, dark choc mint

sounded if you think you need more fibre, then up your veg. We are supposed to get the majority of our carbs from veg and salad, so no need to feel that you're missing out. Don't make the mistake of thinking that just because you're not eating fruit you're not getting enough fibre!

It's hard, Sheba isn't it? I do a lot of stuff that involves me being away from home, and it's always a bit of a nightmare!

It really is BIWI! Those "working lunches" So many times I've ended up eating the filling without the sandwich or buying a random combination of bits from a convenience store and bringing it in with me. I try to fill up at breakfast time.

Sounded if things are slow I normally add a little flax to some natural yoghurt. I also take a probiotic which helps. I have women's issues (prolapse waiting surgery) so I'm not allowed to get bunged on Drs orders. Flax gets it all moving but as biwi says you should be having lots of veggies too. Getting the balance right - lots of fat and water are essential in keeping things moving too (as well as not too much protein) so just check you are getting enough of the good stuff. Could just be the body settling into a new regime though. Koko!

Today
B: creamy coffee
L: cheese salad
D: chicken thighs and 1/2 a tikka baked cauliflower

Took a trip to Carbytwatville last night, kind of planned and very much enjoyed, but really because I couldn't face another meal of meat with greasy veg. I think I need to come up with some new ideas. No dairy is hard so I think I might allow myself some leeway at weekends to save this kind of thing happening.

The scales showed 1lb on this morning but other than a bit of a gurgly stomach, I seem to have escaped unscathed which is good because I still want to be able to eat 'normally' now and again and if I can do so without too many problems, that's great. Back on it today, of course.

One thing I did have was some Dairy Milk Bubbly chocolate, just because I was 'having a night off'. Not only was it incredibly sweet, the texture was horrible, almost chewy! WTF is that about? Give me my Aldi 85% any day!

Anyway, today:
B: scrambled eggs with butter, cream and cheese, mushrooms and bacon fried in butter - yum
L: probs nowt, as at kids party, hence big breakfast
D: at DMs - she's doing roast beef so hoping I can get away with just meat and veg. Will all be super lean so will have a BPC when I get back to up my fat

This is amazing - I have lost 5.5lbs in my first week! I know that the first week is always the biggest loss and that lots of it will be fluid etc etc but still a brilliant result and I have not felt hungry. This has spurred me on to continue to week 2. I don't have masses to lose but I need another stone off and I feel that it is do-able for the first time in years. Thanks for the support and advice!

B - bacon & mushroom omelette, cuppa, creamy coffee
L - lovely fast roast chicken: slathered in a sage and lemon butter before roasting, pan juice gravy with sherry and cream, swede chunks roasted in goose fat, green beans and broccoli - really looking forward to Christmas lunch if it will be like this - I ate pretty much all the crispy skin while it was resting on the carving board, dark choc
D - will be cold roast chicken spread with butter and salad with hm mayo

carcass and bits are in the slow cooker until tomorrow morning to make some lovely stock, mmmmm
