Would i lose weight if I just did Bootcamp lite?

Just that really. Have done lighter life in the past but do not have the will to do something so hardcore again.

I am a little dubious about no fruit but can probably cope. Would like to eat yoghurt and cream but that seems to be more Bootcamp lite.

Looking at the internet it seems to be possible to lose weight just cutting out sugar, wheat and potatoes - or am i deluding myself?

You can, and should. But it would also be a really good idea to read up on low carbing so that you understand what it's all about and why you need to avoid fruit, for example.

Thanks for the quick reply BIWI. I am SO fed up of the diet merry go round - just want something sustainable.

Thank you BIWI - I am a bit confused about nuts. Generally on the internet it seems to say that nuts are ok. Do you advise to avoid them as it is too easy to overeat on them?

It really depends what plan you're following! On Bootcamp they aren't allowed for the first two weeks, but after that (when you move on to Bootcamp Light) they are allowed, but only in moderation. They are low in carbs relative to crisps, but you can quickly consume a lot of carbs if you eat too many

Thank you Biwi

I have one more question. What happens to any excess calories that are consumed in butter, cream or oil etc that are not expended in day to day activity? Are they laid down as fat? Which would mean that calories do need to be limited. Or am I missing something (very likely)?

Fat doesn't make you fat - carbs do! That said, at some point, obviously you can eat too many calories, although there is a definite calorie advantage when you're low carbing - a calorie is not a calorie is not a calorie. You only really need to worry about calories as you near your target weight (although this doesn't mean you have carte blanche to stuff your face with massive portions!)

Biwi - thank you once again for your reply. I have found that the reality is that I am not too hungry eating this way so my portions are not massive - thank goodness.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply to me
