Totally screwing this up

Low carbed for quite a while before Xmas. Felt so much healthier and lost a few pounds (am in the healthy weight range but half a stone would be nice). I want to do this for health reasons manly as I feel so much better without all the carbs.

Everything was fine until new year and since then, I can't focus. Have been bingeing on carbs with a few carb free days in between. I thought boot camp would kick start me off but have been dreadful. I am feeling shattered and grumpy and always feeling hungry.

On days when I have been sensible, I am eating lots, lots of fat etc so no reason behind this.

Always suffered from binge eating too which doesn't help.

Any words of support would be great.

Is your carb-bingeing on 'healthy' carbs or sugary stuff?

If it's healthy stuff the Harcombe diet might suit you because you can have low carb high fat or high carb low fat. It's a 'real food' type diet.

If you're not committing to Bootcamp I'm not surprised you're feeling dreadful! You're half in and half out, so won't ever get through the carb withdrawal.

Could you do some strict meal planning for the next 4 or 5 days, so that you make sure you only eat the nicest low carb foods you can think of, and so that you're not tempted to eat carby stuff?

Thanks both of you. Been bingeing on sugar and bread...think I will sit down tonight and properly work out what I will eat this week

I have been off and on Bootcamp all last year. getting a few days in and then "caving". Trying to eat "good" carbs but then having "bad" ones. It's left me feel really shit.
It maybe you need to have a little help along the first few days/weeks. I know bootcamps doesn't recommend supplements but Dr Briffra does. One of them is Chromium which helps to regulate blood sugar levels. Also thischart might help pinpoint some food to help you

Thanks. Also think I need to get the bingeing problem under control so I think I am going to do a bit of Paul McKenna and not restrict myself too much. In the long run, I know that low carb eating makes me feel so much better

Sounds like you've got a good plan.

pudding as BIWI rightly said all the while you are 'one foot in, one foot out' you are going to feel crap, you are constantly inducing carb flu :(

I know how hard it is to get back into it though - I low carbed all of last year, I was diagnosed with diabetes and low carbing really brought it into line and because it was doing wonders for my bloods it was easier to stick to.

I gave myself Christmas off because I hadn't lost any weight in ages and I wanted to 'join in' (low carbing as a non egg eating vegetarian does make it hard to socialise when food is involved) - my bloods stayed pretty good :)

Thanks for your support.I have decided to low carb alongside Paul McKenna and if I really fancy some carbs, to have a bit but actually enjoy it, rather than it turning into a binge.
