I'm going to have to damn well make sure my DC's go to Uni so I can finally have a rest.

ok, they are only 3 & 1, but it's going to be full on until they are 18/19. They don't see their dad, and I am sure they will never see him so I have them all the time, unless I'm at work or the odd visit to the gym.

A handful of evenings out a year and no lie ins ever. Ouch.

It's so daunting . And stressful.

Meglet, you are not alone.yes it is stressful, yes it is daunting, yes it is a rollercoaster. my son is nearly 3 and i have had 2 nights away from him since he was born. i dont get lie ins either. Try to not think too far ahead.i am sure it will get easier as they get older, rather than being babies/toddlers, i only have one so no comparison really but son watches dvd while i have a shower and that is something i couldnt as easily do when he was a baby. enjoy the small breaks, however small,i am sure you are doing a fantastic job :-) and you are entitled to feel sorry for yourself every now and again. we didnt ask for this situation did we?

We haven't quite reached the DVD stage yet. But I need to get some nice Disney ones I think .

I do hope it gets better when they start school, it has to doesn't it .

On the plus side, DS slept in until 8 and is now downstairs watching Zingzillas and DD is still asleep . Will get a few chores done once my cuppa is finished.
