Me again! Parents' evenings at school - how to handle this?

Just discovered we have parents' evenings at school later this month for both kids.

Obviously, both myself and my wife want to go and I imagine that part of the conversation with the teacher will touch on our separation, and whether it's causing any issues.

Anyone got any advice on this?

Absolutely dreading it.

I doubt the teachers will even mention it unless its really affected them. This is something teachers see day in, day out so whilst its a big deal to you, chances are it may barely even register to them.

To date, not one teacher has ever asked me about my situation.

Just be civil to each other, the important thing is to find out how the kids are doing. If you can't then just arrange seperate appointments.

Nope they never asked us either, mind after the 1st time, XH never bothered coming again!

I wouldn't worry.

We have recently been grilled by schools' admissions directors about our family and how we manage the DSSs' lives. They are perfectly polite about it and take our word that everything is organised well and smoothly for the boys' education.

Ah, ok. Thanks guys.

That's put my mind at rest a little.

They never asked, actually most of them were surprised we were not together when issues started.

Just keep it business like, and if possible, exchange notes with your wife about what has been going on with the children school wise, any concerns, etc. BEFORE talking to the teacher.

Is is causing problems? If it isn't then I can't see why they would mention it.
