Yes, Christmas is arriving and with that the hardest time of the year in single parenthood, so I thought of rising the spirit by posting about those little things that make us feel life is good.

-I will start by saying that I woke up today to find DS preparing breakfast for us.

-And that someone was kind enough to remove the snow and ice from my car before I went out.

  • oh, and yes... I have got a discount in my council tax bill!!! (yeah I know, but every little counts

Anyone else?

The little things that make me feel life is good:

  • DS waking me up telling me I am cute or have lovely hair / eyes
  • coming in, shutting the front door and knowing it will be a pleasant atmosphere
  • being able to watch what we want on tv/ turn tv off/ listen to music I like
  • the sense of acheivement when I look at DS / the decorating I have done / how happy we are.

wow - how lovely. Well, I ventured out to get DD's presents, managed to get free parking spaces in two town centres, got the reserved gifts very quickly. came home watched a film and wrapped her pressies. Set out at 9am was home by 11.30am.... could not believe it. Went out at 1pm.... totally different story. Won't go into it lol.

As Aboardthe Axiom says, except, dd wakes me to ask me what I am dreaming about, or wakes me in the dead of night to ask if it's mornig yet.

Agree totally with the sense of achievement about how kids have turned out and about when you manage to do your own decorating or
building your own flat pack furniture.

Oh and love that i dont have to shave my legs over the winter

and that i no longer find empty food packets in the cupboard or empty milk bottles in the fridge.

DD is so much more loving since we became a 2 people family. She sneaks in to my bed in the middle of the night, which I will not stop, it's her right to snuggle with mummy when she wants. She snuggles in tight, says "mummy, i love you my darling heart" and rolls over and goes to sleep .

She tells me she loves me a million times a day, as I do to her, we have fun, laughter, arguments, and tension, but we are so alike, and I am so in love with her. Leaving him means I have gained a whole other love from DD and everyone comments on how loving, laid back and funny she is.

Just found a "Happy Christmas, I love you mum" note, in the pad I use to write my shopping lists. He is in an affectionate offensive these days

I still shave my legs, I'm an optimist.

My DS much more content now have left twat of an ex, just reassures me I have made the right choice.

I woke up this morning to find little one putting cocoa butter on my face as 'skin is a bit dry, mummy' (she is only two, bless her)

Have lots of cuddles with little one now and the atmosphere is so much better, I am a lot happier as well.
