Then I will get child tax credit, working tax credit and any maintenance my ex pays wil be disregarded??????

Because I'm looking at p/t jobs to fit around my DD.

I'm not sure if I will get much if any IS as ex-h is paying some maintenance towards DD and contribution towards mortgage. So money very very very very very tight.

But on a positive front I'm looking to retrain, or try and get a p/t job. Is it worth it (apart from the fact I so desperately don't want to feel completely useless at the moment....)

Re interest amount

amount of mortgage x 6.08 % divide by 52 equals weekly interest payable.

However only house purchase and certain other eligiable home loans are ok. If you put soem debt consolidation or car loan onto mortgage that wouldn't be met.

eg £100,000 mortgage is £116.93 per week (you round up)

The new upper limit is £200,000

Does that make sense or have I just confused you more?!

No that makes perfect sense. I understand where you are coming from now and can work out roughly what the deal is.

So when I start working, will I still be able to get help towards mortgage? I am presuming I wouldn't get IS anymore once I start earning? Or would I dependent on what I earn?

(p.s. saw this on the other thread too )

amireallysadthat Sadly when you start working all help with mortgage interest will stop if you work over 16hrs per week. However if you work less than that you may be entitled to I.S. Eg 10hrs per week at £7per hour. You would be allowed to keep first £20 and the rest would be taken off your I.S.

However as that is more than the amount you receive after maintenance is taken into account I.S wouldnt be payable.

However if you started work after your mortgage interest was calculated it would mean it would eat into housing costs payable. Ie say you were entitled to £30 pw personal allowance (after maintenance) and £80 mortgage but had £70 from earnings after disregard . It would mean the additional £20 would be taken off your housing costs payable. You would receive 10p per week and and your lender £59.90,

Very confusing I know!

mehdismummy The age your youngest can be when you claim I.S is changing so if you really want to retrain its best you start now.
